Okatsune 101 7-inch Bypass Pruners, Small (One Pack)

This is a very nice pruner. I used it yesterday to pruned my shrubs around the house. This is sharp and the size small fit me perfectly. I also owned felco 6 which I been using for many years. Felco, made to fit your hands comfortably unlike okatsune because the hump on felco handle is slighly deeper on both side to prevent your hand from sliding forward while cutting. As you can see, the hump on okatsune is not deep enough and it is only on one side., Therfore, when you make a cut your hand goes forward at times. Both are sharp and cut a thumb size branch without any problems. Okatsune is much more lighter in weight than felco. I like the lock on okatsune. The felco lock is bothersome, annoying as it sometimes locked on you while you are about to make a cut. Felco cut is smooth, flawless. Okatsune cut is also smooth and flawless but it has this snapping cut sound everytime you made a cut. Felco spring has more resistance than okatsune. If you have arthritis problem, I suggest you get the okatsune. Overall, both okatsune and felco 6 are both good pruners. I recommend both to any avid gardeners.

These easily cut through branches with a minimum amount of effort. Comfortable and easy to use.

I've been using these pruners for several months now...totally worth the small amount of premium price paid. These are lightweight with a creative EASY way to lock them..they come in various sizes to fit different size hands. As a petite woman, I am using the small size pruners which are just perfect. And maybe most important is that the force required -- even to cut most branches -- is minimal. (even for those with hand arthritis.) Cannot recommend this product highly enough! Fantastic!

I've never used Felco pruners before though and I've heard those are the best on the market...those are out of my price range though and many reviewers have said that these are just as good with a better latch system.8. These Small sized ones are perfect for my pocket so I can carry them around for all day gardening...and fit perfectly in my hand. The best garden shears my wife has ever used. Fits her small sized hands perfectly. Cuts well. Well worth the price.

Love how sharp these pruners are and also the audible snip they make. When you hear that sound you know the cut is complete (and final!). Not giving it 5 stars because the instructions are only in Japanese and I'm not sure how to clean them without damaging the sharp edge. Pricey, but worth the money as long as I don't lose them. (smile)

Excellent shears for small hands! Super high quality, superior ease of use. One-handed lock-unlock feature is indespensible. The Okatsune 104 is great for my 6'3" friend, but this 101 is perfect for my little hands (I am a petite 5'1" woman). Beware, though. There are fakes out there, and I got one. The difference is immediately evident in EVERY aspect, despite that the fake is a pretty darned good look-alike. LOOK-ALIKE, NOT FUNCTION-ALIKE. Okatsune shears and snips operate smoothly, quietly and powerfully. Parts and materials are of high quality (the closure clasp on the real thing is made of steel, for instance, whereas the fake I got had a brittle plastic clip...the fake was clunky and loud...the fake had extremely cheap, brittle plastic electronic heat shrink tubing covering the handles, whereas the real thing employs a grippy rubber-like material). We now own 4 Okatsune shears: the 101 pruner, the 104 pruner, the 207 "professional" thinning shears and the short-jawed 307 thinning shears. Will never go back to any other brand. I have not had trouble with the shears slipping up away from my firm grasp, like some reviewers have mentioned.
