A practical tool that’s well-constructed and easy to use
These pruning shears were highly recommended by a well-known product review source. And I wasn't disappointed. I use them to cut the ends off fresh flowers, to trim back small bushes, and to cut out dead plants at the end of the season. They are lightweight but have a nice heft to them. The locking mechanism is very practical. This pruner has a quality feel and is comfortable to use. Very sharp, they do the job of cutting smoothly and well.

You’re missing out!
These are top quality and make gardening so so enjoyable. The smaller size is perfect for my wife and very nimble for even a guy with average sized hands to use. On par with Swiss made pruners but at half the cost…excellent value. Makes a satisfying “clunk” when it cuts and the locking mechanism on the bottom of the handle makes it fast and easy to lock or unlock by brushing the lock up against your thigh. Also tried another Japanese brand but this one was just so much more ergonomic and cuts smoother. Has no issues with either brown/dry or green/fresh branches and makes a clean cut. The other brands struggled with green branches and kept getting twisted or bound. Also, multicolored handles are useful as red is easy to see during the day and white stands out at night so I’m less likely to misplace these. Excellent value…definitely picking up another one

Finally, the right design
Why did you pick this product vs others?:The advertising stated that it was very sharp, and its performance lives up to the claim. I chose it because conventional designs always break and the springs get lost in the garden. If anything happens to this one, I will definitely buy a second from this manufacturer.

Highly recommend
Way better than cheap, name brand pruners that rust after the first use and dull super quickly. These cut like butter (they are very sharp so always wear gloves), feel premium, and have shown no signs of rust with frequent use. After using these, I would never go back to any other style.

Sharp, sharp, sharp
These bypass pruners are very sharp and cut beautifully, with a satisfying clack. They're much nicer than the pruners I found at the big-box stores, for not much more money. One of my better gardening purchases.

Very Good Pruners, But Handle Could Be Better
Comparing these to Felco 6 pruners which I use, the handle on the Okatsune 101 is about 1 inch shorter. While the 7-inch size does feel good for my small hands (female, 5' 3"), I do wonder if the 103 model might have been a better fit. While I appreciate the sharpness of these pruners, as well as the locking mechanism, what I do not like is that the curvature of the handle does not conform to my hands (unlike the Felco). Also, the PVC-like coating on the handle makes for a slippery feeling, and does not give me a firm grip, i.e., it is not rubberized. For being at about half the price of the Felco, the Okatsune pruners are very compelling. With proper care, I am certain that they will perform well. But the handle is definitely one thing that can be improved.
