DeWalt DCD996B 20V MAX XR Lithium Ion Brushless 3-Speed Hammerdrill (Tool Only)

Dewalt seems to have a problem with the chucks wearing out, freezing, etc. But this new drill seems more powerful and being new, nothing slipping...yet. Remember...Pick a brand you feel is reliable, because you don't want to get stuck purchasing different batteries and chargers.

Unlike previous DeWalt drills this has a chuck that requires extra snugging in order to make a tight fit on a bit. It takes a while to get used to doing this. It make actually grip bits tighter, but it does take longer than previous speed chucks. Also if it isn’t manually snugged down, it tends to slip.

As Most know Dewalt Drills are very durable. Although this drill lasted only a couple of weeks before something internal i the gear head locked up. It will not stop me from purchasing again although dewalt themselves would not cover when contacted by phone.

I use this drill for everything from drilling little pilot holes to drilling 1/2 holes in concrete footings. Drill feels very solid, and the LED light and belt clips are great add ons. 5 Stars!

A great value and wished we had bought it earlier.This drill has the power to drill through concrete and sink screws quickly, a real benefit when you are holding up boards. Not to heavy so your hands wont get tired if you are doing a lot of drilling or sinking.

Heavy duty. Works well in all my heavy duty applications. Mixing mortar, stirring compost, or using a 4" auger, all are easily accomplished.

Great little hammer drill . Seems solid and since I have several max xr tools and batteries I get great run time .I like the 3 different speed options and when you turn the clutch to different torque speeds drilling/hammer it has a nice loud solid detent and click between each one .
