Platinum Carbon Black Ink
This is great ink for sketching and adding watercolor washes over it. A friend introduced me to it a couple of years ago but I have never been able to find it in the US. You could only get it by ordering pens from Japan and then it would cost about $23.00 a bottle. So getting it through Amazon for the price I bought it was great! It is very permanent. Don't get it on clothing. Will dry quickly and does not bleed when a watercolor wash is added immediately after. Also it flows well in the pen...it does not clog.

Smearproof, water resistant, quick drying, jet black
This ink has worked great for me so far -- very black, dries quickly without smearing, doesn't clog my fountain pen. I'm using it in a Noodler's Ahab Fountain Pen (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AWFEK72/) which lays down quite a bit of ink. Originally I was using the pen with the recommended Noodler's Bulletproof Black, but it would smear significantly if I erased over it, even days after drying. I tried this Platinum Carbon Black instead, and it's tons better -- the ink is dry and the pencil beneath is erasable very quickly. Huge improvement over the Noodler's.

Same product description, two different products.
Ordered this once and the ink performed superbly. Jet black and completely waterproof. I ordered this ink once again and the ink was incredibly NOT waterproof.First of all, the boxing of the ink well was different. The initial order was in a small black box covered in japanese. The only English says Platinum Carbon Ink Black. Whereas the second bottle is half English/Japanese.After peeling off the sticker barcode on the second bottle, the product ID on the box read, INC-1200. Whereas the first box's product ID reads, INC-1500. Funny, though th sticker I tore off clearly read Platinum Carbon Black. The image in the product description matches my first purchase. So if you happen to get that one, awesome. It works great. Completely waterproof and as black as a moonless night.

Great Ink!
I love this ink to draw with. Water proof and flows great. Buy it if you are up in the air about it, just buy it. you'll be happy you did.

Black Black Black
For me, Platinum Carbon Black Ink is a must for beautiful invitations that must be sent out during the rainy winter months. It is very waterproof, and the ink is as black as I would ever want. It was recommended to me by someone who really knows fountain pens. The flow is excellent in my Pelikan pen. I would probably not leave this ink in the pen for a long time, but for days of invitation writing, it flows every time I pick up the pen. Amazing!

Awesome!
This ink is amazing, THE definitive waterproof fountain ink. I use it to fill my fountain pens to draw and watercolor on top. The ink doesnt move a bit, which is exactly what I need. It's very "indian ink" black. I have heard that this clogs up pens easily, but I have yet to have this happen to me - if the pen doesn't start when I grab it, I just dip the tip in water and wipe with a rag, and this always gets it started right away.

waterproof ink
Not many waterproof inks are designed for fountain pens. I do a lot of art using this ink in a fountain pen and sometimes add watercolor.

It is great if you just need black ink but mine is ...
It is great if you just need black ink but mine is DEFINITELY NOT WATERPROOF. I am very disappointed. I didn't test waterproofness immediately and should have. Not sure that I will be able to return it at this point. I won't purchase this again.
