Keeps me dry in pounding rain
I bought these rain coats for Disney World. The ponchos they sell there are a joke -- my seven year old got wet all the way up to his chest in one of the rainstorms.I am 5'4" and I ordered the medium. It comes down to about my ankles, and the arms are about 4 inches too long. But I like it! Too big means more covering! I kept dry in Florida's pounding rain, really dry!The raincoats are much heavier and bulkier than the ponchos. Lots of buttons to keep water out. I didn't have trouble with the buttons falling out like some reviewers reported. They look sturdy. And they feel good in the rain because when it rains, the air gets a bit colder, so the raincoat keeps me warm and comfortable without being clammy. It's bulky and heavy and I bought 2, but I use a stroller to carry all my stuff, so it's no problem packing them around. Also, whenever I get in the freezing air conditioning, I put on the rain coat like a jacket. At first I thought maybe the raincoat is too heavy for vacationing, but after wearing it a couple of days I starting liking it. It felt really good to be strolling down Magic Kingdom in a downpour, without a care in the world, when everybody else is hiding (and stuck) in what shelter they could find, eying me jealously!Made me feel like a princess!

For occasional needs, it's the perfect high visibility rain coat ...
First, it isn't exactly "light". The material is fairly heavy being PVC coated fabric. However, it should hold up well and resist tears from branches or other normal snags. It's not the $100+ utility lineman rain coat but it would take a sharp piece of metal or similar snag to tear it.The coat also has some smart design features, like the "double layer" along the snaps on the closure. That feature provides a under layer beneath the snaps to keep rain from sneaking through. Having used it a couple of times on camping trips, the snaps are well placed to keep the rain out while still making it easy to put on and take off.For sizing, I'm 6'1" 185 lbs with a 42" chest and long arms. The medium hits just below my knees and the sleeves fall right between my wrists and thumbs. I have worn light jackets beneath the rain coat and still have plenty of freedom of movement. I'm sure the large size would have been like a tent on me.Overall, I just don't see how I could have done better on the value and utility of this raincoat. It works perfectly for those occasions when I know I'm going to be outdoors and there's a good chance of rain.

Awesome Rain Coat
I read the many rave reviews and was still shocked by the high quality design and workmanship of this $14 coat. It's rainy season on the Oregon coast and we plan to hike the trails and stroll the beach, rain or shine. This coat would probably keep me dry even if I worked on a fishing boat in gale force winds. So it far exceeds my needs and expectations for a relaxing seaside vacation. It is designed with carefully considered "work gear" standards and features: "storm sturdy" construction to prevent leakage, including a covered vent in the back for breathability, snaps at the wrists to keep rain out, a snuggy cloth neck collar, a cinchable hood, large pockets with generous cover flaps on the front and envelope snaps down the front will definitely keep me dry.I'm 5'4", 170 lbs and a medium size is large enough for a sweatshirt underneath with room to spare. It hits me about mid calf, which I wanted for possible blowing rain. But it can easily be shortened with scissors. If you're

Great raincoat! Good idea, good execution, good value!
This raincoat is exactly what it looks like...just better.Pros:-Very high quality!--The seams are all very well done.--The breathing vents at the base of the neck actually work well! (this surprised me)--The material just feels high quality - it is uniform, and only smelled a little like rubber when it came out of the package for the first time - and that smell dissipated within the first 10 minutes of wearing it.-The coat isn't too heavy.-The detachable hood is included.-The arms have snaps at the wrist if you want to add on matching gloves (not included)-The drawstring for the hood works well, and is easily manipulated.-The front snaps are doubled. I'm not sure how to describe this correctly, but its like a double-breasted jacket. One side is snapped to the other, and then another flap is snapped the other way. I'm sorry that this isn't clear. Basically, what this means is that you don't get any cold air flowing through the front of the jacket, making you cold. It is a really nice touch.Neutral:-None so far.Cons:-None so far!Length of time owned: 2 Weeks.

Ludicrously large but good value if it fits
I knew from looking at reviews that this coat was going to be big, but thought I’d chance it anyway because it was so affordable. I wish they made this in a smaller size. The medium is comically large and long. I’m 5’ and it went down to my ankles (which is fine, I would likely stay very dry in this coat). But it was just too huge and bulky and I wouldn’t want to be caught dead wearing it :). The material seems durable. Just a note for anyone wanting to take this on any sort of trip - it is heavy. It folds down into a 6” by 10” (ish) bag but it clocks in at ~3 lbs which makes it not very practical to lug around when not in use. Giving it 3 stars because the material and affordability of this coat are great, but the sizing just makes it completely impractical for normal use.

I started wearing these when I was in construction and now I wear mine every time it rains. Who needs an expensive raincoat when I always get compliments we I have this on!

Nice quality
I got this for my daughter's Coraline costume. For the price it is a really good coat. For an 11 year old, I needed to fold in the sleeves and we taped the coat up inside because it reached her feet. Other than that, it looked really good, was the right width and was suitable for the crazy weather we had this year. The top back has air vents too.

Calidad
The media could not be loaded.

Just like description. Good product
Bought for Halloween costume. We cut it shorter to fit, and it was easily altered without ruining it. Smells like plastic (no surprise). Quite waterproof. Good sturdy plastic though. Will not fall apart any time soon
