Excellent Author
Great old school values and fun traveling with Cadillac Jack. Nice way to see America from his perspective.

Cadillac Jack
This was the first McMurtry book that I have read and it was highly entertaining. I dabble in antiques and much of the book revolves around Cadillac Jacks hunt for treasures at shops, flea markets and auctions. However, while I travel around the country chasing antique bargains, Cadillac Jack chases antique bargains and not-so-old skirts. He is quite the ladies man with the libido of a twenty year old. The book is well written, often funny and an escape into a world that I am only partly familiar with. Enjoy!

Ramble to Nowhere
Fairly interesting cast of characters and dialogue. Dissatisfied with the storyline that seems to need another chapter or two. But Cadillac Jack rambles around without a plan so I guess it is a fitting ending in that rest.

Fresh as ever
McMurtry is amazing—fine literature this may not be but it’s a pure joy. Can’t imagine why it hasn’t been made a movie.

a perfect essay on human idiocy
this novel by McMurtry.Astonishing how this Author can portray so many diverse, yet intensely human, environments and feelings.A strange, yet fascinating, novel.Beautyfully written, as are all his works.

You Just Never Know
It’s really hard to believe that this book was written by the same author as the four Lonesome Dove books. This one comes off as something of a joke, by comparison. The main character is treated with derision. The various male and female characters he encounters have little to know development and are seen as flaccid. Reading this was much like a chore, like an assignment. Disappointing.
