Best bicycle visibility aid I've seen yet.
Wow, can't believe how many people don't read the simple instructions (about how to turn off demo mode).I got these last summer for my new bike, since I'm riding through parts of Los Angeles that have very poor lighting in the middle of the night (Cahuenga Pass, if you're familiar), and I LOVE these SpokeLits! I had to order them from another website and they seemed much more expensive (around $15-$20 apiece), but I'm thrilled that Amazon in selling them now!I put a green and red light on opposite ends of my wheels, and they look great when I'm riding through the streets. I feel much more visible, and I can see the lights reflecting off of the ground, parked cars and windows I pass.I agree the Blue doesn't seem like it'd be as visible, but for $5 and free shipping, I'm going to order one to try it out.IMPORTANT! The biggest downside to these is the batteries, which don't last all that long and sell for almost $4 most places (and the SpokeLit uses 2 at a time). But I just found a seller on Amazon that sells a pack of 25 for $8, with free shipping. Just search for "CR2016". I haven't gotten mine yet, but there is a lot of positive feedback on the product page, so I'm hoping its as good a deal as it sounds.Enjoy! And thanks for selling them, Amazon!~TravUPDATE (December 16, 2010):First, the current link to the batteries I mention is here:http://www.amazon.com/25-Powertron-Lithium-Battery-Batteries/dp/B004GLBA2Q/ref=pd_cp_hi_2I ordered the batteries over a year ago, and still haven't used up my supply, and I have 4 SpokeLits on my biks (2 on each wheel), plus two more for my boyfriend's bike (though he doesn't ride as much as I do).As far as the Spokelits themselves go, I am back to buy more. Unfortunately, my front wheel was stolen with two of my lights on it. But I couldn't love these more. They are bright, and they look SO cool riding down the street. I have one of every color on my bike (2 front-2 back) and I get compliments all the time about how cool they look. And I've never yet had a problem with visibility. I always feel like car drivers can see me, especially coming from the side.

If you bike after dark, you need these!
I bought the first pair of these over a year ago and put them on my bike because I often ride home in the dark. I bought a second pair about nine months ago because the first ones have been so good. These lights rock! They really make you visible. I've gotten lots of nice comments on them from fellow cyclists and motorists. These lights look cool and make you much more visible to other traffic. Obviously, you will be much more visible from the side, but the lights are bright enough that you will also be much easier to see from the front and rear, too.My Spokelits have performed well. I have not had problems with the batteries burning out too soon, nor have I had trouble keeping the Spokelits in place. I regularly pass through a construction zone and ride on a rough country road, and the lights have stayed securely in place. My poor bike has also been outside in the rain on many occasions and the water and mud have had no effect on the Spokelits. This is a good product and it is fun, too.

One slightly wonky, but still cool enough for 4 stars.
Well, one of them is definitely a bit wonky but I'm still giving it four stars because they're actually cooler than I expected. It's not worth the hassle of trying to send the wonky one back, and it *sort of* works, it's just kind of dim and flickery.I like the materials, it's a nice rubbery plastic, holds up well to daily, punishing rides. They're easy to put on, they stay in place, and the changing colors are awesome. I'll probably order some more soon, and just cross my fingers they are both nice and bright, and I am of the opinion that more lights on the bike is better. These really do make a difference in how soon motorists notice me -- I am always watching to make sure they notice me, because there have been times they did not, and those times really sucked. Anything that makes a difference with the noticing, I'm all over it.

Great for side visibility
These are great. I have six, one on each wheel of three bikes, and they vastly improve visibility from the side. Headlights and taillights are great, but I work downtown and often am not seen by drivers who are doing quick turning and merging necessitated by the many one-way streets. They are cheap, and these offer a great bang-for-your-buck for being seen on your bike at night. They're pretty flashy too! (no pun intended)Very easy to install, just put on a spoke and slide towards the outside of the wheel so it's wedged between three spokes. I used a clear zip-tie around the light & spoke so it can't just be pulled off by a envious passer-by.They have two modes, solid and flashing (blinking) operation. I find the solid operation better; since they're on your wheel, they're moving enough to be very eye-catching, which would be the benefit of the flashing mode. They aren't the easiest things to turn on and off; it takes a very firm push, so much so that you need to reinforce the light with your other hand to avoid too much stress to your spokes. However, that's better than it accidentally being turned on and running out the button battery. The batteries are replaceable, but they last so long that I haven't needed to yet.Highly recommended!

1 out of 2 worked, Battery dead.
I ordered two of these lights. One works great. The other one that batteries were dead right out of the box. I had to switch them out with some spares I already had out of the box. You also probably need to get two per wheel to complete the lights circle and make it super cool. I would give it four or 5 stars if 50% of my order actually worked when I got them.

Nite Ize Spokelit
I was looking for something to make me seen commuting to work on the dark winter nights and thought these might do the trick. They fit very securely into the spokes without tools and have stayed put on the potholed roads of London. They emit a suprising amount of light and make you stand out on the road. I have used two on the front wheel and you get a great effect as they phase through about 8 colours in tandem.Unfortunately one of the two I bought arrived with the batteries nearly worn out. It is easy to replace the watch batteries and they seem to be keeping the water out.The only problem I have is that I keep getting distracted at them spinning round when I should be looking at the road!Would recommend highly for commuters and kids alike.Chris R.
