Sterifeed Sterile 1ml Colostrum Collector, Pack of 10

I bought these syringes to express colostrum towards the end of my pregnancy.These syringes are already sterile which is very important for colostrum/ milk storage, the fact these come already sterilised just makes them even more convenient.I found they collected colostrum well ( don’t be disheartened if you’re unable to express much to begin with as it can take a while to build up). As my colostrum supply built up I was needing to use more and more syringes which did become an issue as I do think they are expensive.They are small and easy to store/ freeze and are also small enough to easily transport a few to the hospital. They only store 1ml per syringe so you will need quite a few for a full feed.I would recommend these for colostrum expression and storage despite the price as although expensive, they are not when compared to others on the market.

The syringes are absolutely fine no damage but one of the packets has came and looks like it has been sealed with a hair tramped inside the packaging which makes me question how sterile they actually are

I used these to collect colostrum in pregnancy. I collected 30 syringes in total which some are still frozen. They are individually sterile packaged and very smooth to use. The end bit to stop leakage is handy too!

Bought these as my hospital had ran out these are the exact ones the hospital use , was able to express and use most of the syringes however baby fed well from birth so donated my milk , for expressing these are ideal

Perfect for colostrum collecting, arrived straight away. Identical to those given to me by my midwife (I needed more last minute).

I managed to fill some syringes in advance of giving birth. Fed them to baby at the hospital. The syringes were brilliant and simple to work with. No complaints and would recommend to anyone who is looking to buy them

I decided to get some additional syringes to the ones I bought from My Expert Midwife (which are really pricey for what they are). These Sterifeed ones have narrow tips, more like injection type syringes, as opposed to the wide ENFit-tipped ones the MEM (Isosaf brand) ones have. This is probably fine if you are getting enough colostrum to collect in a different container and then suck up with these syringes. If you want to suck straight from the nipple, be prepared for frustration, especially when starting out. Because the tip is narrow, it is prone to getting clogged with colostrum droplets, which form an air bubble if you suck back and forwards again trying to clear the tip. It is then incredibly easy to end up firing your precious colostrum out of the syringe. So far I have used one syringe twice (within a 24h period) and both times I lost some of the colostrum, which nearly brought me to tears as I am currently only getting 0.2-0.3mL a day (started a few days ago). I strongly recommend using a different syringe type when starting out with colostrum harvesting as it is a bit of a frustrating process to begin with, and the last thing you need is syringes that make the process harder. I will use my remaining MEM ones for now and then will give these another go when I am making a bit more and can afford to lose a little.
