If you like mild, flavorful coffee, You will LOVE this!
My wife and I have been buying this coffee for years now. In our collective opinions, this is without a doubt the best tasting, easiest on your stomach (non acidic) coffee money can buy, period. Whenever we drink coffee out or have tried a different coffee at home, we always miss our Sumatra Mandheling. Add to that the awesome customer service that Coffebean Direct provides and you have a solid 1-2 punch. Unbeatable!Highly recommend this coffee and this seller. Both are the BEST!

Excellent Quality
I have been buying coffee from this company for several years now and it has always been very high quality and very reasonably priced. You could spend a lot more for something not nearly as good. The packaging is also very good. Easy to keep the beans fresh and well protected in the original pouch.

Fantastic coffee and service
This coffee is phenomenal, especially for the price. Been buying for over a year now. Got one singular bag that tasted off and they immediately made it right and refunded me. Great company and product

Tasty, but...
The coffee taste good. Only giving 4 stars because it is a little acidic on my stomach.

Low Acid/Smooth Finish/Fair Trade
I was looking for a coffee that has a great taste without additives like cream, flavorings, sugar etc. Basically, a good cup of black coffee. I've grown to despise most large commercial coffee house brews out of Canada or Seattle (you know which ones I'm talking about) due to their lack of subtlety and fire-roast-the-heck-out-of-it since most consumers doctor their drink to the point it no longer resembles coffee...more a coffee-flavored frappe. In any event, this Nicaraguan coffee is a winner. Smooth finish, low acid and (shudder) can be nuked if you forget about it and it cools off. Not a recommendation, but a good indicator of residual acids if it becomes bitter.Try it. You'll like it. A few cups and it convinced me to stop paying for the displeasure of dealing with haughty barristas.

Very good coffee, and good for the birds!
Very Good Coffee. I use a French Press and it still does not not leave any kind of unpleasant flavour as an aftertaste. However, I find, when you add a bit of half and half, you can actually taste the subtle flavors of this coffee even better. A mild lighter roast coffee which actually means MORE CAFFEINE! Delicious: great in the morning or mid-day.It is also good to know that it is shade grown and fair trade. This means that the growers receive a fair price AND if it is shade grown there are other non-coffee trees around which means the coffee beans will have a better flavour, there will be a larger variety of plant species in the forests and birds can have homes and song birds that winter there have a larger habitat and diet.Enjoy your coffee guilt free!

We Love It!!!
It is flavorful and still very smooth even though we brew very strong coffee. We love that it is good for the workers (fair trade), good for the environment and ourselves (organic), and good for the wild life and ecosystem (shade grown) not to mention it is really cheap to boot... there is just nothing I can find wrong with this coffee! I will so note that it always smells like coffee when I open the bag and especially so when I grind it. I have never had gourmet Nicaraguan coffee so I can't compare to that but compared to any other whole bean coffee I have bought this one is our favorite.

Horrible stuff
This is probably the worst coffee I have ever had. It arrived stale, odorless, a bag of lifeless beans. It had absolutely no coffee smell when I opened the bag. I always grind my coffee fresh on the spot and there was no aroma from the ground beans - bad sign. The brewed product was equally lifeless - worse than ground Folgers from a can. I returned it after the first cup. My bad for ordering such a large bag but I have have had good luck with organic coffee and this seemed like a good deal. Bland, bland, dead stuff. Maybe other reviewers received a fresh product - I don't see how anyone who enjoys coffee could like this stuff in the condition received by me.
