Classic and Timeless Looking - Well Built
This is a very nice clock - very happy with it. It looks classic and timeless but could still fit it a modern decor. I have it sitting on my mantel in my kitchen and would prefer it to be a little longer and taller (width for a my mantle is perfect - it's 4.5" deep) but I knew the dimensions prior to purchasing and can take no stars off on that account. I like the ivory distressed face, the magnetic backing that holds 1 AA battery (I've changed the battery once in a little over 6 months. It keeps time perfectly and is silent. It's well made, classic and timeless looking - although it could fit into a modern decor as well. Just wish it was a bit larger but overall very pleased.

Lovely clock
Nice design, small size but perfect for a hallway on top of a buffet. Love the art deco feel, the dial and numbers not for older eyes or anyone who might have a little trouble with smaller numbers. Keeps accurate time, although I wish I could plug it in instead of using batteries

Lovely clock!
This clock looks very nice on top of a credenza (large desk with cabinets) in my 'library/study/office' that has an elegant look to it. For the price it is a great buy and I would definitely recommend this clock to anyone who is not looking for a contemporary or modern look! Bulova is a good manufacturer for reliable products and I don't think this clock will be any different. It's really simple to set and requires only 1 AA battery in the back. The shape of the clock (like a half-moon) makes it look more interesting as compared to a square or round one and the face is a cream color that sets inside with black Roman numerals on the outside giving it an old antique look. I would imagine this clock would also be nice on top of a mantle. I've added a picture of the clock to show (hopefully) how it looks on a piece of furniture.

Nice looking but never worked
Apparently buying something labeled “open box” is going to be a gamble most of the time. When I bought this clock, it didn’t look brand new but I loved the design and the location I had planned for it was about 7-8’ high so it wouldn’t be viewed up close. The first problem was the cover over the battery was literally wedged into the opening. I have a set of very small screw drivers and thought one of those would surely work. None did. By the time I got it off, I had scratched the back up and the wood had splintered. But the main problem was the battery wouldn’t seat correctly. It never did work.

You're paying for the case, not the clock
We wanted a clock for our large mantel, which is in a living room with a lot of cherry-colored wood. This fit the bill, and I have to say, it is quite aesthetically pleasing, and the wood case masks the ticking sound quite well. The wood feels real and solid, though the back of the "movement" is just a round, black, plastic cover.I say "movement" because the actual guts of the clock are the same cheap AA-operated clocks, mass produced in China (not that there's anything wrong with that), that you can find in a five dollar plastic wall clock from Ikea or Walgreens. So you should just know that for the price being paid, you are not buying some sort of delicate, hand-crafted, old world piece of good solid technology. You are getting a cheapie mass produced timepiece in a nice looking case.At the price, I don't think that's all that bad.By the way, the measurements are 6"x8.25"x2" H/W/D. I haven't seen this info anywhere on Amazon. So don't expect a huge clock.

Nice looking!
UPDATE: After 1.5 years-still keeping accurate time with no battery replacement needed!Dial is a little small for mantle, but will make it work as it’s a nice looking clock and fits our Craftsman home. Bulova is a trusted name so expect it will keep good time in the long run. Case is resin not wood but can’t tell

Sophisticated touch to your living room.
This clock is Niiiiiice. I had ordered a cheap lil $15 mantle clock earlier, and it was too small and pretty cheap. I was chosing between a seiko Mantle clock and some other Bulova ones for the replacement, until I stumbled upon this beauty. It was pretty easy to set, the construction is nice, it has a solid feel, not cheap at all. Love the color, its got a vintage feel. Got my living room looking sophisticated! I cant be any happier.
