Really works to discourage ticks
I spend a lot of time recreating in the woods around my central Virginia home, and ticks, especially seed ticks, are a major problem for me - I can end up with dozens of new bites from one hour in the woods. Seed ticks are larval ticks that have just hatched from an egg mass, and large number can get on you just from brushing against a group of them as you walk past a piece of vegetation that they're massed on. I finally decided to make a real effort to use this product every time I went in the woods. That means I needed to wear a pair of pants I treated with it every time I go out, so I bought a pair of light-colored pants at goodwill - the light color makes it easier to find ticks on you before they get far. I don't wash these pants every time I wear them, but the tratment is supposed to last through several washes. Anyway, the first time I wore the treated pants, I happened to look down near the bottom of one of the legs and there were probably a hundred seed ticks on them. And they werent moving! I believe they literally died on the pants. I got no bites. This has worked to prevent almost all bites for about ten different walks in the woods now. One time I got lazy and didn't change into the treated pants, and got about twenty new bites on my ankles. I'm sold. Lyme disease and alpha-gal are rampant in my area and I know way too many people who have one or the other. This product is gonna reduce my chances of contracting tick-borne diseases as long as I'm consistent in using it. Highly recommended.

Did work with fleas
I had a flea infestation in my apartment and I used to put it in my socks before coming in. No fleas would jump at me. I recommend using it when going out and walking on tall grass. Also, the scent is clear so you will not have issues if you're afraid this smells like the typical repellent spray.

Very Convenient Spray for Treatment of Clothing and Shoes
Used this to treat everything before leaving on AT Through-Hike attempt. The only tick was on my bare legs, so I am much better about using the mosquito/tick repellent every day. Bought a 6-pack of smaller bottles to re-treat while in-route.

It might deter smaller ticks but not adults
The media could not be loaded. I treated a shirt with this product to test with a live, healthy test subject which was an adult female dog tick. The shirt is one year old, only washed once and came with Insect Shield treatment. I feel like it detered some insects, but may be losing potency so I treated a section for the test. I was impatient so it wasn't completely dry before I dropped the tick on it.If you watch the video you'll see the tick crusing along and doesn't show any sign of being bothered by the Pemitherine. The next test was wrapping the tick up in the freshly treated area and letting stay in for 5 minutes, still no effect.Lastly I sprayed a generous amount of the Insect Shield into a cup and dropped the tick into it, which killed it instantly.I'm sceptical of this products effectiveness indetering ticks. I will however continue to use it to repel mosquitoes.

Check your Sensitivity before Using!
I have been plagued with ticks for years. Seemed that no matter what I did or do kept me from getting bitten. My last bout of tick bites resulted in Lyme Disease. I vowed to end this problem. This product seemed to be the answer and was recommended by the Tick Expert. I followed the video and instructions on application…with only the overspray being overlooked. I stayed upwind and tried to avoid.Sprayed shoes, socks, pants and shirts for hiking. Let dry for 8 hours in the sun. Never got a chance wear (destroyed all, $300 hiking shoes and 2 pairs of 5.11tactical pants). Just being exposed to the over spray resulted in the WORST case of itching HIVES you could imagine. Even though I showered sometime after. They would come and cover large areas of my body, causing itching that drove me to being awake for hours. Doctor prescribed prednisone and antihistamines. This went on for 3 days while camping until I decided to go for a 3 mile run to bring them all out.As I ran and sweated..I could see them disappearing. By the time I returned to our Motorhome they all were gone. Jumped into the shower the episode was over.Never did I expect this reaction..my allergies are penicillin, ibuprofen and black cat dander.Long story short…please just check skin contact before use. This was a lesson for me to learn the hard way…and may be an anomaly.
