VibramKletterlift Full Sole Replacement - Black

Sole saver
My $200 Birkenstocks were worn so thin I could feel small pebbles through the sole. Financially I needed to stretch these shoes a bit longer, I went with this sole since I wear them at work. They are excellent, very durable, I wish I would’ve done this when I bought them brand new. The only thing challenging is how difficult they are to cut to fit but durability is more important right?!

Don't let the image fool you, these are the Kletterlifts
These were helpful in getting made the closest thing to minimalist work boots as I could get, at the time. It's basically the V-100 outsole designed to go on a flat-soled boot.

Work great
This sole is great. Was able to use it to replace on my work boots. They attacked nicely with shoe goo. After the glue dried I cut off the excess sole to match my boot. I’ve been using them for several weeks and they are awesome

You can trim what's too much but can't add what aint there.
This review is for the Vibram Kletterlift Full Sole Replacement - BlackBought a 'size 10' to resole a vintage pair of size 9 Gecko sandals, much like the Chaco sandals of today. The pattern is like the original Vibrams that came on the sandals. The new 'size 10' Vibram sole is about an inch longer than the size 9 shoe but is quite a bit too narrow. These in size 10 wouldn't fit the width of my narrow size 9 Vasque trail runners. Out of 4 shoes i checked these against, the size 10 would actually fit only one pair of size 9 hiking boots and those just barely. Not good, Vibram.Happy enough with the seller, the item shipped quick, no snafus. Not so happy with Vibram. Would never have imagined that a size up in these would be too narrow!

Great treads
Bought these to cut and fit my cowboy boot soles only using contact cement. Needed traction when moving my bike on garage floor.

Flexible Kletterlift Vibrams easiest to install of all the vibrams.
I ordered a size 11 for my 10 1/2 Danner Military spec boots. The width was generous, but not overly so, and the length was long enough to have btw 1/4 and 1/2 " to spare, so really not much room for mistakes. I resoled with quality contact cement, allowed to completely dry (about 30 min.), after applying generously to both old midsole and new vibram sole. Practice a few times before you try it though, as once the two surfaces touch, there's no way to adjust them anymore, and correctly aligning them is tricky and takes some repetition to get it right. I used a 'shoe anvil' and firmly pressed the sole onto the midsole. Very solid connection. Nice vibram sole: not too heavy or thick, has some flexibility. I used a really sharp filet knife to trim to proper size after gluing. Don't try to trim prior to installation. You'll need the extra width and length to give yourself some room for slight misalignment. The Montagna Block is thicker, and much more difficult to trim. One guy said he had to use a circular saw to try to trim them..... OOPS.

Become your own shoe repairman.
These soles do not have a raised heal portion, so you can only use them on a boot or shoe where the heal lift in UNDER the sole. As a result I had to cut these down and use a separate heal. I used Gorrilla glue to glue them down to some work boots from Sears that had deteriorated and Sears would not stand up to their satisfaction guarantee. I went to a boot shop and they wanted $75 to redo these $125 steel toe slightly used work boots, so I decided to become a shoemaker. I learned a lot. My boots work just fine now.

Feels like I'm wearing brand new boots!
I would recommend (as did others) to buy one size up. Allows you to trim to fit. Suprised that my my boots don't "squeak" anymore, AND, the new sole (wether this brand or any another, I suspect), has improved my walking gate. Plan to purchase again, and again....
