Tasty and a perfect complement to zataar if you like it with an extra kick of sour.

We make a simple little tossed salad with sumac when we make Indian food - shredded lettuce, thin sliced shallot and halved cherry tomatoes. With the sumac and a little salt we don't need any dressing. It's kind of a mild sour-ish flavor, but it makes the salad go perfect with chicken shawarma, tikka masala, etc. I've purchased several of Rani's spices - ground cloves, garam masala, tikka masala, turmeric, asafetida, kashmiri chilli and tandoori masala. All of them have been delicious. Yum! Of course the spices are sourced globally, but Rani is an American company based in Houston, TX.
