Simple installation and good quality

I'm terrible at installing things, putting them together, etc.-- even something as simple and obvious as a toilet seat with its two screws and that's it. So I am very happy that this was so easy to install and went right in with no glitches (mis-threaded screws, missing hardware, etc.), but also offered multiple instructions, all totally clear.The measurements and other info in the description on Amazon also upped the odds I was right in thinking this seat would fit the toilet (can you tell I 've never replaced a toilet seat before, lol?), which proved to be the case.So, perfect fit, easy installation and I was already happy with my purchase. I'm not exactly a toilet seat connoisseur, so I don't know what else to say about it-- it's smooth and easy to clean, it doesn't wiggle around, it lifts and closes effortlessly...so as far as I can tell, it's perfect!Also, it offers two sets of hardware, so there's a choice of installing two different ways. I just chose to put it on the same way the previous one was put together, but I guess it's a plus to be offered a choice-- the way I didn't choose is probably minimally easier, but either way is a snap.So I'm happy with my choice, and glad I bought this one instead of one of the many higher-priced ones, since I can't imagine how they'd have any advantage over this one.

I bought this to replace a solid wooden seat that was still in relatively good condition, only the paint had worn away. When I took it out of the bag, everything I needed was there. After fighting to demount the old seat, it went in pretty well, although it took me a moment, that was on me, not the product. What the product description did not say was how 'light' it was. The material is easily cleanable, but instead of a solid seat, it is molded with supports for the holes on the underside of the seat. I'm not huge, but am a larger, older, man and it's a bit spongy when I sit on it. That's my big complaint. They could have made it a solid piece of plastic and it would have worked out so much better. The slow-close feature really works well, and I am now in the process of refurbishing my old seat for the toilet. This is going to be an 'oh crap, I broke my toilet seat and have company coming' standby. It's good enough, but as I said, you get what you pay for.

Easy to install and I love how slowly it drops.No more slamming down and echoing in my bathroom.I hated that!

First , the positives! It was easy to install and came with 2 choices of hardware for installing. It looks nice, and the soft-closing feature is perfect. It is comfortable: wife approved.Now the negatives - there's nothing to hold it in place while sitting on it; it slides to the side. My old seat was rock solid and wasn't flimsy, stayed centered on the bowl. This one slides back and forth no matter hot tight I cranked down on the screws. Very disappointing. The seat bumpers need to be sculptured out to help it stay in place and maybe beef up the hinges so they don't flex sideways so easily.

The media could not be loaded. opens and closes quietly. provided two types of installation brackets, the regular nut and bolt, and the rubber encapsulated captive nut, which compresses when you tighten it. i preferred this method as the rubber will expand when the nut is tightened to fill the mounting holes in the bowl, center itself, and minimize shifting around of the seat. if the seat is installed too close to the tank where it cannot be opened past 90 degrees, i see where it can fall back down. mine didnt go quite past 90, bounced back a bit, but remained upright. nevertheless a second push sets it back. or just hold it up for a second when lifting it the first time. if i sit on the closed seat it remains in place, if i stand on it to reach for something, it will slip off to the side. perhaps the centering tabs arent long enough, but i think all seats will slide sideways when you stand on them. buy.
