Excellent military-grade boots made by the same company that equips the US Army!
This is basically the new version of the original Desert Storm boot, which I owned a few years back. This version has an improved composite upper, which fixed the old problem of the synthetic material ripping on a common fold line near the ankle. (I fixed mine with some Kevlar thread.) Anyway, the boots are superbly made, with Vibram soles and speed lace eyelets. This is a full 8 inch upper with a padded area at the top of the boot. It will take you about a week to break them in. The steel toebox in this boot fit perfectly - sometimes this is a hit-or-miss proposition, as the toebox is either too large or small - this one pefecto! The tongue is a synthetic material that is rather stiff, so be warned that this is where most of the breaking in will occur, as your foot gets used to the folds and ripples of the material and locations of the eyelets. For hot weather use, this is pretty good. I work outside all night and when I take my boots off in the morning my feet are nice and dry, so the boots are doing their job letting enough air flow through. Lastly, the insoles are a little thin on the padding/arch support department, so if you are planning to do a lot of walking or, especially, standing around you really should get a set of aftermarket insoles. The stock insoles are removable, so you can upgrade to better insoles at anytime.

I had terrible hip/knee/back pain starting at 23 years old
After working 4 months in ill fitting boots (if you're wide don't buy regular! You will suffer!) in one factory, I had terrible hip/knee/back pain starting at 23 years old. I skipped breaks and didn't eat during my shift because the walk tothe break room was so painful. After beginning my new job, I caved and purchased Bellevilles.I have become an evangelist for these boots. After about a 1-2 week break in period (working 6 days a week, 8.5 hours, with my health app reading about 4 miles walked per shift) I was literally a faster and more efficient person. The comfort, support, and grip are amazing--and as a 5'4" woman, the extra height+stability helped tremendously. I worked around oil as a machine operator--a lot of grime accrued. I just washed these today and they're only a shade or two off from their NIB color --after being literally black. If you're a womens' extra wide, you can probably wear these in wide. Though the fabric isn't water proof, it does seem to be treated enough to keep rain out-- and the attached tongue was much appreciated for that as well as keeping scrap metal away from my socks.Honestly my new go to. As dramatic as it sounds, I have no idea how I worked without them. Thank you Belleville!

Why lasting for only 9 months is a good thing
So my husband is hard on, well, everything, but especially shoes. A pair of boots that would last me, a normal person, for years would only be able to stand up to him for 3 months... maybe. He's so tough on them that he doesn't even try to wear sneakers for everyday. He wears boots. Combat boots. Steeled toed boots. Boots with Vibram soles. Boots that last longer than 6 months. These are the boots he wears. This is our third time buying them and the only reason why we have to replace them is because the leather has been worn away and so some of the stitching has come loose. One time was because the sole got too smooth. But each one lasted my husband for 9+ months!! That's cause for excitement in our household! So a normal person could make these boots last 2+ years easily. They're great boots that put up with a lot of, uh, fertilizer, er, abuse. We'll buy them again in 9 months. Guaranteed. Also please note that our socks get similar treatment so our recommendation is the Guide Gear Xtreme steeled toe socks. If they don't have them here, we buy directly from their website.

Great value boot
Fit just like a piece of TA50 issue. Worn for both work and harley riding, have worn fairly well over 11 months of mildly abusive use. Will buy again when 9 1/2 Xtra wide can be had

Ehhh...
I've been wearing these boots for about 5 months now and I'm not terribly impressed with the comfort or quality of these Belleville boots. This is my fourth pair of Belleville's and I don't know if the quality is necessarily slipping, but it's not getting better. This particular boot took two painful weeks to break in (the boot was just digging into my Achilles tendon) and then the stitching started to fail after about 3 months of light use (see picture). I think Belleville is going to honor their 1 year warranty, but it's still a pain to go through the process. And just FYI for all the Navy readers out there - these are not authorized for shipboard wear because the side material is a flammable nylon.

Good boots
Sized the same as military boots, about a half to a full size smaller than civilian footwear if you haven't been in. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is the leather on the outside of my right foot has already got a wear hole and I haven't had them but a couple months.

They need no breaking in they were comfortable from day one
my first pair of these boots I split the difference And ordered a half a size larger after less than a year the sole cracked. After doing some reading I found out that that's a problem if your boots di not fit right.my second pair I ordered 11 and a half wide which is what I wear. I have had no problems whatsoever with them. They need no breaking in they were comfortable from day one.
