The best weapon light out there / light opperation explained at the end of this review.
I was a country police officer for 6 years before changing my profession. We use Stream light tlr-1 as our weapon lights and they have always been reliable. I bought my first Olight a few years back, not too long after I switched fields of studies as a more inexpensive alternative. I found them to be priced very well for the technology Olight provides and I couldn't be happier today for my choice! Olight is reliable durable has longevity, versatility between bright, dim and strobe which I don't use but only in extreme situation where disorientation is an exciptable means mainly because, you may trigger epilepsy in people you may not know accidentally. My experience most internal batteries end up being litihum, I'm a firm believer that litihum batteries have a memory so if you charge them after every use then, you may end up training the battery too think it has a short life. When the battery drain's to what you think is a safe level before your light dies that's when you should charge it up fully. Definitely a weapon light Worthy for Homeland security applications. It took me a second though, to understand how to access the lock out mode even, after reading the instructions anyway in this mode light turns to a dim on off setting only. To do this first turn your Olight off then simply press and hold one side of the two buttons located on the back of the weapon light for 1 if not 1.5 seconds then while holding that one button down press and hold the other button on the opposite side too until the light turns off then, the next Time you use either button on the weapon light or remote switch which works beautifully by the way, it will be the simple dim on off mode. To turn off this mode simply press and hold both side buttons on the back of the weapon light at the same time until the dim light turns bright and that will take it back to normal bright only function where you can switch it on and off by clicking any single button once. To access the momentary light press and holdany single button untill you want it off then if you want to use the strobe function, click both side buttons at the same time.

Good not great
I like it as a weaponlight - it's easy to put on/off and the remote switch works fine but I don't believe the lumens are anywhere near 1500. I have a cheap chinese small flashlight that claims 1000 lumens - another claim I don't believe - that is as bright or brighter than this light. Maybe it's the color of the light - the flash is a white light while the Olight has a much yellower tint. It doesn't have much throw outdoors either. The yellow tint doesn't help here. Indoors it's fine but how much range do you need? Definitely wait for one of the frequent sales.

Leave it in the house
Gonna give it to ya straight Jack...Pros: very sturdy and seems to be very durable. Threw it around a bit before mounting and it held up well. Very bright and the throw is pretty good. Charges quick and has minimal footprint on rail. Solid mount even with QD as long as your use the appropriate adaptor. Came with two small zip ties which did come in handy for my rail. Might need longer or heavier ones depending on your system.Cons: run time leaves much to be desired. Max 1.5hr run time and the brightness drops as the charge diminishes. It will only put out 1500lumens for about 1 minute. Then it will drop to 600 lumens. I have found 600lumens to be acceptable in most applications. Has no battery back up and with such a short run time, its field application will be highly questionable. Pressure pad attaches to light magnetically which for any type of field application will required a range band or inner tubing for added security. Since it has no battery backup you will need a way to keep it charged. Adding a powepack to your kit for your weapon light... completely avoidable with a battery powered light.I will say this light is best suited for a home defense weapon. Would not recommend for any type of field application. Spend a little more and get you a Surefire.

Awesome. Best tac light.
By far the best weapon light I have ever had. Easy on easy off. It fits in kydex IWB and OWB holsters that are designed for the surelight x300 which I retired once I got the Olight. It fits into my safari land for my Glock, designed for the surefire x300 is I did not have to upgrade any holsters.I got the version with the pressure switch so I easily can transfer this light between my black rifle and my sidearm. It is slightly shorter than the surefire which I consider a benefit. The buttons are easy to find and learn to use. Hit both pads for strobe, press left or right pad for temp illumination. Relapse to stop. Press and click either pad on the right or left for sustained illumination. This thing is bright as can be. Casts a focused beam inside and outdoors. Thank you Olight.

best light weight compact light on the market
The media could not be loaded. I can't find anything negative about this light. It's light weight compact, which I love. It fits any picatinny rail. Has a strobe feature and can be switched from 500 lumens to 1500 lumens. One of my favorite features about this light is it can be charged and put into lock mode for those like my self that use a hard case with foam. The worst thing that could happen is the light accidentally turns on and kills your battery when you need it. I made an instructional video to help my tacticool people that don't read instructions.

Bright !!
Let’s just get the stuff I don’t like about this light out of the way ..•cannot remove lens ( so that I can put some type of protection in front of the factory lens)• will not fit my hi capa gold Match rail proper)• button actuator switch is just slow , for lack of better terms ... you can’t flick it on or off quick like a TLR ...now for the good stuff . Great throw and it’s blinding bright .. also the charging is pretty cool and ez to use . Bye bye Battery’s !!
