If you’re worried about your RV parts failing while you’re out in the boondocks, just buy OEM quality parts. I’ve seen reviews where people have bought cheaper parts and had them fail after a few hours. Quality matters. Sure, some people say it’s just an oil filter and an air filter. But this is an air and oil cooled generator. The environments we are in dusty and dirty as well. Clean oil and clean air mean a longer lasting gennie.

i agree that it is always a good thing using the original equipment parts when doing any maintenance,i have to change the oil in my 4K RV generator soon,i had a FRAM oil filter to use to change the oil but even the weight of the ONAN filter is quite different,i saw a study the other day about different filters and the fram didnt do so good so i think ill give the fram away and use the onan oem FILTER.

Super Short Filter but works
The filter is a little shorter than the original one that was in there. We had to remove the face plate which actually wasn't too hard. I'm so happy my generator is up and running again today!
