98 JEEP WRANGLER
I have a 98 Jeep Wrangler with the 4 banger engine and im down here in San Antonio, Texas where the weather tends to get just a little hot. I have had the jeep for several years and have never had any problems with it. Even in the hottest months, my jeep has always stayed around 210 degrees even with the A/C on. I deceided to run the Syclone electric fan as it has many advantages over the clutch fan. I am running a Derale fan controller that you can set the temp to turn the fan on and I can honestly say I wish I would have done this sooner. Being a 4 cyl jeep, you don't have a lot of horsepower to start with, but when you are running the A/C with a clutch fan it is really terrible. Very hard to try to stay up with traffic. If you don't run the A/C, then it has enough pick up even with 33 in tires. After installing the Syclone fan, I was very happy. With the A/C on, you don't feel the drag anymore and it wants to take off now. What a major difference this has made. Still running at 210 in August. Any one with a 4 banger jeep wrangler really needs to consider replacing their fan clutch with an electric fan. There are a lot of modds that you can do to try to increase your horsepower and I have done just about all of them, but I really think this makes the biggest difference in performance. THANKS.....

Works perfectly!!
I was having overheating issues on my Monte Carlo SS (LS turbo)I installed this fan with a shroud and it keeps it under 178° compared to the Hayden fan that had me at 210. Definitely worth the money

Flex a Lite 398 solved my problem. I'm happy with it.
Flex a lite 398 did a great job. I lowered the temp on a 48 Ford Woody powered by a 350 Chevy by 25 degrees measured while cruising at 60mph on an 80 degree day. I normally us Spal but I was very happy with this fan. The dimensions (thickness) was what I needed for this application. The outstanding thing was it was remarkably quiet. The S-blade Spals that I have been using are much more noisey with the equivalent cfm. I don't know why. I was pleasantly surprised by this flex a lit 398. On this application I took out a dual 12" set up made by a competitor. The single 16" was more efficient than the dual 12" by directing the air flow correctly. That was part of the plan when I replaced the dual 12" with the single 16". Many factors must be considered beyond the size of the fan when building street rods. We do that for a living.

Keeps my high compression stroker motor nice and cool in LA traffic even while using the ...
I needed a slim fan for my 1966 Mustang fastback. The whole car has been modified or customized in some way so I ended up with very little room between the radiator and the WP pulley. Anyways, I tried another fan based on it's dimensions and it melted down literally within 200 miles. So I figured at least through Amazon the return will be simple if this one gives me any trouble. I initially bought it as a temporary fix and planned on replacing it with a more expensive solution down the road.Well, it's been about a year now and it is still going strong. Keeps my high compression stroker motor nice and cool in LA traffic even while using the stock size aluminum radiator. If this one ever does give out I would buy another one in a heartbeat. You really cant beat it for the price. Just make sure you run proper gauge wire and use a relay and you should be good to go.

16" Syclone on a '95 Dodge B2500 works well!
Used on my '95 Dodge B2500 Van. I recently lost my stock viscous fan clutch assembly. The old fan when it separated from the water pump made every effort to eat its way into the radiator destroying it. After some research the Flex-A-Lite seemed like a good fit and I was comforted to know that it was an American made product. The 16" Syclone works well. It is whisper quite, but does draw about 17 Amps off the power system. I installed it with the Derale 16738 180 Degree Farenheit Single Stage Electric Fan Controller. I live in central valley California and since temperatures routinely reach into the 110's i was worried that i was giving up some of the pull that the stock fan assembly gives up. I installed a single 16" fan on the pulling side because there was not enough power left on my alternator to safely install a second fan. My concerns were well founded. Please note that the following negative items are noticed only at 0 mph!!! Under normal driving conditions everything functions well.I have seen a slight (20%) rise in idle temperature. Additionally i would say that the air conditioner is not getting enough flow to speed cooling operations inside the cab. I would fix this in the future by installing the 16" fan on the pushing side of the air conditioner. I would also install 2 12" fans on the pulling side. I believe this would fix all cooling problems, but since I am moving to another area of the country that is colder I'm not worried about the temporarily warm running temps at idle. Im comfortable using this installation to trail with.

Nice fan at a good price
Got this fan to replace an engine powered unit in a vintage Jaguar to give myself a few extra horses and relieve some of the strain on the old water pump bearings. I originally was going to buy a no-name version but after some internet research I decided that the flex-a-lite would be worth the extra few bucks. This fan draws a good number of amps so if installing it in an old car be sure to upgrade the alternator. In my Jag at idle it cools it down and shuts off in less than a minute at 70 degrees (F). I used a flex-a-lite adjustable fan controller which is also a nice piece of kit.All in all, a really good product at a very good price. Similar no-names cost about $80 with shipping and I've heard some horror stories about cheap fans coming apart at speed. This one is fully balanced and seems to run quite smoothly.
