ThermoWorks ThermoPop Super-Fast Thermometer with Backlit Rotating Display (Yellow)

The ThermoPop is the best probe thermometer that I've used for a couple of reasons. First, speed! I've never seen a thermometer reach a reliable temperature reading as fast as the ThermoPop; it's orders of magnitude faster. Second, the rotating display. When I'm cooking things in my smoker, it's not always easy to find the perfect angle to see the display. With the rotation, I was always able to at least have the digits right side up. Finally, the backlight. This is the first probe that I'veowned with a backlight. It makes it so easy to see the temperature even when I've got food smoking into the dark hours of the evening. I would absolutely recommend the ThermoPop to any chef, all the way from amateurs to pros.

I bought it because i read an amazing review about this thermometer. Haven't used it yet. For some reason right before I received it I thought how nice it would be to receive something small extra, like a chocolate on a pillow at a hotel, and you can't imagine my surprise when I opened the box and there was a bag of jelly beans inside!!!!!! You guys rock!

I had my eyes set on the more expensive ThermoPen, but this deal was too good to pass up. Per their website, the ThermaPop locks into the temp a few seconds later than the Pen. I can afford to wait a few extra seconds, considering the price differences between the 2 products. The backlit display will come in handy when the days get shorter and I'm outside grilling in the dark.

Tossed it after a year. Not good quality

It is a great little thing. It is quick to read. I notice there is a little hole in the bottom of the sheath for a possible lanyard. I am sure some would like to clip it to their clothes, and some like to wear it around their neck. It would be nice if there was a quick release lanyard. It would have been nice if a lanyard might have been included. It is pretty reassuring when I see chiefs I watch on TV using it. I have a Thermo pen also, I like it and it reads faster, but this ThermoPop is easier to keep with me.

Ok so this is not the one you see the pros using on the food networks. But for the weekend warrior who likes to grill this thing cannot be beat. A few seconds and you have an accurate read. I like my steaks rare to med rare so when this thing reads 130 degrees off they come...perfect!

My one star doesn't reflect what I think of the product, it outstanding, but this seller has raised the price over 100% since I purchased it in Feb 2015. Great product but find it somewhere else for much, much less!!!

It's quite responsive and quick with a temperature reading when cooking on the grill. Particularly like it because it has a backlit display. Appreciated when cooking or grilling outdoors in the evening hours.
