KIDS PREFERRED Disney Baby Mickey Mouse Jack-in-The-Box Musical Toy for Babies

While I’m probably going to keep it, this box is one of the weaker Jack in a Box items I’ve encountered. I was excited to get this for my 19mo son who loves Mickey Mouse, and jump scares (eg: hide and go seek). So when I found this product on Amazon amongt no real competition (different designs don’t count), I thought I’d give it a go for him.Sadly, my son gravitated to the latch first before the crank handle that I demonstrated for him. He immediately popped the lid with the obvious and loud colored latch to reveal Mickey, ruining the surprise. Sure, he went for the crank handle. But the bright latch was more than enough for him to change course.In regards to everything else, the crank handle is very loud and squeaky. The music that plays when the handle is cranked makes no recognizable song as each note is very out of tune. It sounds like a creepy toy that belongs in a horror movie. Mickey himself looks like a knockoff by a company that doesn’t want to violate copyright. It’s just not a good box, and doesn’t represent the Disney company well.Now that I’ve said all that, I think I will return it. I just talked myself out of keeping it. Oh well. C’est la vie.

Once you close it back up it doesn’t latch on it’s own you have to maneuver the latch for the top to stay closedNot as great as the “old time jack in the boxes from the old days”After a week it broke although the handle spins it does not engage anymore therefore there is no music & Mickey doesn’t pop out 😡I AM RETURNING IT‼️

My son begged for a Mickey Mouse jack in the box for Christmas so I was thrilled when I found this one at such a good price. For those having problems keeping the Mickey down, sometimes you just need to give the handle a half turn and it will fix the problem. Also the song is M-I-C-K-E-Y if you didn't recognize it. This toy was a hit. My son is mesmerized by it.

It works like a normal pop up toy. Yes - the music is not recognizable until the very end of the theme, but it's still cute. Some of the other reviews had mentioned that they couldn't get the Mickey to stay down after he popped up - we found that you have to hold the lid down and then turn the handle, then it will lock into place. It also has one little dent in it - but nothing severe.

After less than one week it stopped popping. We got a matching Minnie for our dear little one's sister and that stopped working the same day.

It keeps my daughter entertained, but not sure how durable it will be in the long run. The Mickey that pops out is a little crooked, but nothing serious. The lid and latch that keep it closed seem like they may break over time. The music is also hard to distinguish as the Mickey Mouse song except for the ending of the song.

Cute toy, blast from the past but not as well made. The lil red clip barely holds down the lid, as well it draws attention to the child which quickly found it didn’t have to wind the handle to see Mickey pop up. All the did was push the lil red clip to release the door.

Quality is incredibly poor. Baby can turn handle but quickly learned to just flick up the lock on top. He can't push Mickey back down...it takes me two hands to be successful. There's a tune when the handle is turned, but no recognizable melody. I'm surprised that it's a Disney product. It's not near the quality of the identical item I had for his father. I'm going to be returning it.
