Klipsch IK-650-C (Pair) Pre-construction Installation Kit for 6.5-inch Series Speakers

I purchased a pair of Klipsch CDT5650 in-ceiling speakers. These mounting kits are required to stabilize the speakers against or in between the studs.Speaker fits snugly in the hard plastic ring, secured by screws. A part of the bracket is flat where it's placed flat against a stud and screwed securely into place.The white strips pictured are in fact rigid straps of thin perforated metal. One end is attached via a clasp to the plastic ring; the other end extends to the next stud where you put one or two screws to keep it tautly in place. So one end of the ring is screwed directly to a stud, the other end is stabilized to the next stud with the strip.Graphically:IO---IIf the studs are too far apart, attach a strip on either side of the ring so it stays in the center like so:I--O--ITHIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH THE SPEAKERS!!!!! You're ripping us off, Klipsch! They have the nerve of selling these for $30 a set. It costs what, $1.69 to make?? Ten bucks maybe I'd pay without discontent, but 30 is absurd.I'm sure with some trial and error one can improvise a much cheaper solution but I needed them quick since the ceiling was going up in a new construction.2 Stars for being greedy buggers.

I haven't installed the speakers in the brackets yet, but having them in place made dry wall installation and running the wire less of a hassle. The white tabs can be a bit flimsy and the instruction could be better. That's possibly because these are targeted more to pro installers.

My son said that this was exactly what he wanted.

Bought during the construction phase of our house and 4 6.5 inch speakers to go with it. They do not fit the speakers, must have been sent the wrong size. Too late to return the speakers now so I have to order larger ones and eat the cost for the 6.5 inch ones I ordered months ago!

I have been considering buy a set of the Klipsch round in-ceiling speakers which are sufficiently pricey in and of themselves. However, if I also have to shell out an additional $30 for each pair of speakers on top of the price of the speakers, then this is a deal breaker. I agree with the original review: how can put a premium price on the speakers and then charge your customer additional for the parts required to install your purchased speakers. No thanks.
