Ola Raknes has presented a down to earth history of a bona fide genius. We tend to think of "them" as being alive centuries ago, say Copernicus or Galileo - ok Einstein was recent - but this guy out did even Albert. Worth reading

This book will give you an excellent overview of the extensive work of Dr Wilhelm Reich, arguably the 20th century's most ground breaking (and latterly most forgotten) natural scientist, from the viewpoint of a man who knew him personally and professionally during the most productive decades of his life. Vilified by powerful opponents, both political and scientific during his action packed life time, Reich's astounding discoveries and legacy are long overdue for re-examination and further development. Reich made understandable. He is a much misunderstood figure but extremely important in the study of contemporary sexology and in particular, of masculine psychology, in which I am interested. Worth the price for sure.

This is a very informative and well written piece of work about a fascinating individual that was done wrong by the United States government, whose persecution of Wilhelm Reich went even into book burnings. Ola Raknes did a wonderful job writing this book and gives the reader plenty of valuable information about Wilhelm Reich. I highly recommend this book!

I've heard of Orgone energy, and the work of Reich and Dr. James DeMeo. This book explains orgone energy, and its beneficial uses. The book has instructions for orgone devices, but I've not experimented with them. There are many web sites based on Reich's work, that offer for sale "orgone healing devices', "Holy Hand Grenades", "Cloud Busters". etc. In my opinion, these are just scams to get your money.

I love a good read and this book is just that!

This slim 183p volume from 1970 contains a very accurate overview of the topics encompassed by the science of orgonomy, (the life energy research pioneered by Wilhelm Reich). Part 1 covers WR's life, part 2 covers the wide holistic scope of orgonomy, and part 3 is entitled 'The Orgonomic Concept of Health and its social consequences.' Raknes studied under Reich and it shows, the book whilst being somewhat condensed remains nevertheless very accurate, something missing from a great number of books about Reich and his science, (the notable exceptions being David Boadella's & Myron Sharaf's biographies and James DeMeo's various contributions.)

One day I am going to buy the right Reich book that actually has a decent level of depth. Not really the seller's fault, it was dispatched in a timely manner and is in the expected condition!
