How wide is the widest panel of the three pieces?

Each panel is 26 inches long. They expand to around 64 inches if you leave 4 inches in each side of the panels for strength but can go to about up to 68 inches if you strengthen the joints because you will have only 2 inches of side.

My original outside piece has a screen over it to keep out critters. Does this not come w/ a screen? Its just an open hole that critters can get into?

It doesn't come with a screen but I just keep the window screen in and it works to keep the bugs and critters out of the house
