A Gift from Woolworths

A step back to the difficult days that WW2 inflicted on an average group of English women.
I have really enjoyed this entire series. A Gift from Woolworths continues to give insight into the interesting cast of women and their families in the final days of WW2 and beyond. The relationships formed through the challenging days of their time, one can't help admire their tenacity and the support. There are births, deaths, marriages and family conflicts as this story continues. It was a relief to read at the end of this story that the author is considering adding at least one more book to the series and this story needs to be continued.

Five stars - I loved it!!
I thought that the book was fantastic – just a brilliant story and I loved catching back up with the Woolworths Girls – they are some of my favourite characters! This is part of a series but it is fine to read as a stand alone and can see it being loved by young and old alike – it has some excellent characters and a great plot line. The writing style is very good and I loved the flow the author achieved with the story. She is perfectly suited to this genre! I have read a few of her booksnow and have loved every one.Five stars from me, a fabulous story and very highly recommended!!

Woolworths Story Does it Again!
This is such a brilliant read once again from Elaine Everest, not only does she tell the story of all these wonderful characters once again in her book, but you feel yourself living the story with them. You just fall in love with the usual characters, Sarah, Betty, Maisie, Freda, Ruby and Maureen and of course the lovely men it David, George, Alan, Douglas and Bob. There was a little intrigue in the book with the character of Sandy! I will leave the story there as it is a must read for anyone, who has read the rest of the Woolworth series. Or if you have not read any of these books, a suggestion from me is for you to read them. It would be lovely for another book of the after lives of the people in this book after the war and when they have started their new ventures. So it's another well done from Elaine Everest and look forward to reading her next bookl The Tea Shop Girls. So I give this book A GIFT FROM WOOLWORTHS FIVE MASSIVE STARS.

Not yet read
Got a few of The Woolworth books to give as Christmas gifts, so I haven't read them. They look good, and the recipient really enjoyed the two she's read previously.
