Piggybook

I was expecting something that helped show how the whole family should help out, with a feminist touch. Instead, it was very uncomfortable to read, characterised men and boys as pigs, actually showed them as pigs, and the message was far too blunt.Most real life situations are far more nuanced than this. Yes, I understand that a lot of women, esp others, get fed up with their partner and sometimes their children, leaving them to do most of the work, but sadly this just reads like a militant feminist wanting to show the world how 'bad' men are and wasn't helpful in modelling balanced behaviour to my daughter

My children loved this book when they where growing up and when my daughter, who is mother to two boys started to feel outnumbered in the home she remembered this story! She is now reading it to her boys with some positive results.for those who don't know the story basically if you treat your home like a pig sty and treat your mum as a skivvy you will turn into a pig and your mum will teach you a leason! So value and respect those around you and you will be fine, if not suffer the consequences! The illustrations are great too! Once read never forgotten!

This book is sheer genius. Amazed is wasn't written by a woman! Anthony Browne is one of our favourite authors in our house (we have 3 boys aged 4,6 and 7.) This is a very good prompt to initiate a conversation about how they should all try and help mummy a little more around the house. As usual with Anthony Browne, lots to discuss and lots of hidden things to spot in the pictures.

Another fab book by Anthony Browne. Bought for my year 2 class, they love his stories and find his illustrations really funny!

This is a nice book, I enjoy the message don't take your mum for granted and that women are equals. However, I'm not sure where the mum disappeared to for a couple days ... Or why the cars broke

I adore Anthony Browne books and after giving one of my daughters all of his books for her daughter I am now looking to buy a full set for my other daughter's son. This was in immaculate condition, delivered on time and I was throughly delighted.

As always, a great Anthony Browne book... slightly odd but gripping and great for cross curricular links, especially PSHE!

What an excellent book! Anthony Browne is one of our favorite family authors now. We would like to collect all this series now. A great story to express not taking advantage of your mum. Very well put together and my six year old son liked the hidden pigs everywhere.
