Perfect
I really like these more than using plastic. You can reuse them with the batch with each grit

Great addition to your tumbles
These add great protection to your rocks during tumbling. They fill the void if you don’t have enough to fill a load. They are reusable but only for the same kind of grit used. After the load is done, wash off, dry off and label so that they can be reused for the next load I.e. stage 1,2 or 3 etc.

Essential for rock tumblers!
We purchased a rock tumbler for our child at Christmas, one of the very popular rock tumbling kits from National Geographic, as an introduction to tumbling. Almost immediately the included stones came out to something like a third of their size, highly disappointing given we followed the instructions to the letter. After consulting with wiser, experienced tumbling enthusiasts, we were directed to the Polly ceramic filler here, and it has made a world of difference. For one, the filling material quiets the tumbling process substantially and it smooths out the rocks bouncing around. Saving our celestines, agates, and garnet from being smashed to pieces certainly pleased us and gave our child a larger collection to work with, much appreciated. The outcomes include much smoother rocks with less battering and diminished size, which I appreciate when buying a pound of tumbling rocks only to get a small handful of chips relative to their original proportions. A little of this goes a long way and it's reusable. Make sure to label which filler you use for which grit; they shouldn't be interchanged.

Wouldn't Tumble Without Them
Pros:1) They work. Let's be honest, all we care about is whether or not these little pellets actually work. They do. Not only do they cushion rocks (thus avoiding the ever-discouraging bruises on cleaning day), but they actually help improve the tumbling process. Simply put, they make sure grit gets to all those hard-to-reach places.2) They're reusable. And they last a LONG time. I've reused the same pellets for my course grit phase 4-5 times now and they still look the same as after their first tumble. Easy to clean and separate, they make like a lot easier.Cons:1) You'll need more than you think. If you really want them to help, you'll want your rocks packed pretty tightly with these pellets. Meaning? You'll probably be using more than anticipated. Again, it's well worth it--and the pellets are reusable, so you'll get your money back in usage. Still, I'd recommend getting at least one bag per grit phase (so four bags total...I know, a lot...but it's worth it.)

Will buy again.
Arrived well packaged, I mixed a tumbler half gemstone and half ceramic pellets and set the timer for six days. I can't vouch for the effectiveness until I see the results. I have read the purpose of the pellets and I believe they will reduce the waste of rock grinding against rock. Myself I like to tumbler with out a cushion the first week and I will use the pellets for the rest of the polishing. And yes I will buy again. If I had use these before I would have given all five stars. The first week I had about 1 1/2 tbsp of bb size turquoise pieces and about 3 tbsp of turquoise chunks the size of peas, ideal for earrings and I put about a half to three quarters of a pound of nickle size pieces with the same amount of pellets in the tumbler, waiting to see results.
