GE WD14X10009 Link Hinge Arm

I purchased two of the white "plastic" Link Hinge Arms for my GE Profile Dishwasher. Wanted to have an extra on hand just in case something went wrong during the install. The part was a perfect match but I did have difficulty getting the plastic part onto the hook end of the wire cable. I was hesitant to put too much pressure on the new plastic part for fear that I would crack it. The Link Hinge Arm on my model dishwasher did not simply slide into place. But I knew that would be the case because it required sizeable pressure to remove the broken piece from the hook end of the cable. The solution was to slightly bend the hook end of the cable to the side a little. This allowed the Link Hinge Arm to easily fall into place. Once securely in place I gently bent the hook end of the cable back into its original position. The door now works perfectly! I think more pressure and friction are put on the side of the dishwasher door that is closer to the sink, because this is side that we use to put the dishes from the sink into the dishwasher and where we pull open the door. So I will save my extra part for when this side of the door breaks again remembering that GE made the part out of plastic.

I used the product for its intended purpose, linking the door hinge to the counterbalance spring. You will need pliers to force the connector to spring connection. It is, I presume, intentionally tight.

Took me longer to rig the broken part to work when I couldn't find a replacement locally. If ever there is a more important cheap part I'm not sure what it is. Only wish these were made of metal to begin with. Relatively easy replacement. Bought two while I was at it and replaced both.

Easy to change out. Not sure why GE insists on using plastic on a constantly moving part that is under constant spring pressure but none-the-less the part was an exact replacement and fit just fine.

Broke as soon as I hooked it on. for some reason the quality is less than the OEM ones.I just made one out of wire. should have in the first place.

Exactly what I needed to repair my dishwasher. Couldn't find in local home improvement stores but received this quickly and at a fantastic price.
