Prospectors vs. Suavecito
This product has completely ruined Suavecito for me. I've used Suavecito for years and has been my default pomade for a while. I'll be using that as my control for comparison. P=Prospectors S = SuavecitoPackaging:P = One word, awesome. Comes in a large metal tin (4.5 oz). It's very detailed and has a lot of neat touches like the shovel and pick on the inside. Looks nice on the bathroom counter.S = Plastic tub. meh.Advantage = ProspectorsTexture :P = Scoops very easily and has a nice creamy texture.S = Very sticky and tacky textureAdvantage = ProspectorsHold:P = I have a slick back and the hold for me lasts around 12 hours. If your a night owl you might need to apply again before going out. Hair isn't stiff or crunchy and is soft to the touch. I also noticed that my hair is better trained and will tend to want to stay slicked back even without the pomade. The added oil definitely conditionsS= Hold lasts a full 24 hours. Very crunchy almost brittle texture. Dries so hard feels like you could snap a strand of hair off. Feels like you're wearing a helmet of hair. Why did I love this again?Advantage = ProspectorsWashing outP = water based and rinses out very easily in the shower even before using shampooS = water based and rinses out very easily as wellAdvantage = drawScentP = I absolutely despised this scent at first. My wife described it as old lady and called me Ethel for the rest of the day. I wouldn't describe is as old lady, but I would describe it as a very clean soapy type scent. It's not overly masculine, but it definitely isn't feminine. It's just a nice fresh clean scent and I ended up growing to really like it after a few usesS = The best part of this product in my opinion. Very strong masculine scent.Advantage = SuavecitoOverall, this product out performs Suavecito in every category with the exception of scent. If you like Suavecito you owe it to yourself to give this product a try.

GOLD!
I've been wanting to try this Pomade for sometime, now I only wish I had tried it sooner. There's much to love about this product:1. The pomade is really nice. It doesn't take a lot to get the hold you want. And it washes out very easily.2. The Scent: This is the best smelling Pomade I've ever used! Prospectors captures the classic Barbershop scent perfectly.3. The artwork and Tin: It's the best I've ever seen4. It's at a great price pointFor me Prospectors Gold Rush is in my inner circle as being one of the best I've ever tried. Don't miss it

So far, so good.
Prospectors products are what my barber uses and recommends. He always uses a little Coal Mine in my hair after a cut, but I feel like it isn't strong enough or he doesn't use enough to keep my hair in place. I don't recall him ever using the Gold Rush, so when I started running low on Suavecito, I decided to try it.Comparing it to Suavecito Firme and Imperial, Gold Rush is lighter and less viscous in the hand. Has a very distinctive "barber shop" aroma (like a subtle spicy-floral meets a cool menthol smell). Smells exactly the same as the Prospectors "After Shave" if that helps. To me Gold Rush offers a little shine, but in a very natural way (definitely not wet). What I like: Gold Rush is medium bodied pomade that works in with the fingers very easily. Doesn't seem as strong or sticky as Suavecito or Imperial, but I usually "lock in" my style with hair spray anyway. With Gold Rush, I use just a little more hair spray...but not much. My hair seems to lay better with more natural volume than with other products. In short, it gives me the look I am going for more quickly and easily. What I don't like: The aroma is on the stronger side and it lingers all day which isn't very desirable to me (unlike other products). For what it's worth, it is noticeable throughout the day and even if you run your hands through your hair later in the evening. However, I don't really like or dislike the aroma in general.Verdict: So far, so good.

Prospectors or Reuzel are my choices.
My barbershop is a Reuzel dealer and on one trip used the Prospectors Gold Rush and the ease of application, smell of clean hemp oil, texture/moldability and longevity. Its a clear pomade and its durable and washes out easily. Its become my daily go to and while I like the Red Reuzel for similar style and feel, Prospectors is my current pomade.

Easy to apply. Smells nice.
Hold is good while still keeping your hair soft to the touch. Add a little more than usual for an extra-strength hold if needed. It has a creamy texture and is easy to apply, unlike other waxier pomades that you have to heat up in your hands first. Doesn't leave flakes at all which is very nice. Packaging is very nice and eyecatching.Pro-tip: Mix this with a little bit of temporary hair dye styling gel in your hands for a subtle color effect while still keeping your hair soft to the touch!

Converted me from gel!
My first foray into the world of pomades. Very impressed! I used to use a high quality salon gel, & am now a complete convert due to this product. Excellent hold, need to use very little to do what it needs to do. Washes out WAYYYY better than the gel ever did. Hair actually feels clean without even having to use shampoo. (Crazy I know, but true) it has a nice scent that lasts into the day. It took me a bit to get used to smelling anything on myself but it was not at all unpleasant. Overall a very nice hair product.

Good stuff
I used to use Lay-rite previously but wanted to try something with a little more of a "wet" look (I have dry hair) and this works well. It's not too greasy, cleans up easily -> but it does have a unique old skool barbershop smell that I like but my wife does NOT (first time she's commented on the smell of a hair product). The smell does seem to fade fairly quickly though. The old-time tin it comes may look cool but it's POA to screw on and off esp once you have some product on your hands. Overall pleased and will purchase again.
