Bravo, Papa Piccolo!
This charming book with beautiful, detailed illustrations can be helpful in teaching children that boys and men can be caring and nurturing - just like Papa Piccolo, the tomcat in the story. It may also assist both boys and girls in developing these character traits from Piccolo's example. The story also illustrates the concept that families can exist in different forms, and that a family is where there is love and caring. Included is a map of Venice with information about that city that will provide cultural enrichment. The information provided for parents and educators at the end of the book are additional tools to aid in the character development of children. It's an excellent book that I highly recommend.

CUTE book!!
I just LOVED this book, with the cute, realistic illustrations. I had a bit of a problem using the text pop-up, though, but I admit I don't have a whole lot of experience using the feature, much less with longer sets of text. In other words, the text would magnify, but I couldn't get it to smoothly move the magnification to the next bunch or two (in the same "paragraph"). Still, I just couldn't take even a star from such an enjoyable book.MOST highly recommended!

Love quality literature and/or cats?...Don't miss this book!
If you have a child who loves cats as much as my son...a lot...then I definitely recommend this book! It is a very sweet story with nice illustrations as well. We read it five days in a row (as part of our homeschool curriculum) and he still requests it just for fun. If you enjoy quality children's literature and cats, I don't think you could go wrong by purchasing this story!

Book was unreadable on Android app, refused to open in Kindle for PC
This looks like a cute book, and I downloaded it when it was offered for free.Since I don't have a Kindle, I use an app on my Android phone and the Kindle for PC software to read Kindle books. Unfortunately, I was unable to increase the font on my phone, and the book refused to open on my PC. Hence, I was unable to read it.I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem, but this is the first and so far only book I have not been able to increase the font size on and that refused to open in Kindle for PC.If it is a problem with the book itself that causes this, I would love to see it resolved so that I could read the book!

KINDLE VERSION HAS NO ILLUSTRATIONS
This is an adorable, sweet little story about a cat who becomes a foster father to some kittens. However, there is a big problem with the Kindle version, which is that the illustrations are not included! It's just plain text. I don't know what the publisher was thinking, making a picture book available digitally but without the pictures.

The kids loved Venice after reading this book...
We read this book as part of the Five in A Row unit studies. This book really made my kids want to visit Venice. The ending made them laugh and they enjoyed the end over and over again.

I got this book when my youngest was about 4. He's 11 now and still enjoys it sometimes. The artwork is beautiful. I've leant this book to friends (only those who'll take care of it!) quite a few times, because it's too good to keep to ourselves!

A wonderful story for children (and adults) who know Venice. The illustrations are lovely and accurate representations of Venice too.
