NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP X-Large Makeup Artist Train Case with Lights

Bought this to use for applying special effects makeup and so far it's great. I spent a lot of time researching various brands and options (and contacting others who had purchased them) and determined that this was the best pick. I am glad I went with it. First, the price (with free shipping!) is phenomenal. it was well packaged and I received it in a matter of two days, with no damage. As others have mentioned, the bulbs that are supplied with the case are not very bright and they get hot fast (which is hard to avoid with incandescent bulbs). I found a solution at Home Depot and purchased LED bulbs which can be dimmed and do not generate much heat at all, and are a lot brighter, and last thousands of hours. A very simple, and fairly cost effective solution to the bulb issue.The case is heavy, but it's also well built. I do not recommend this as your primary makeup train case due to the weight issues. I didn't buy it to serve as my main makeup case and really wanted it for the professionalism and practicality of the portable, lighted mirror with a good working surface. I don't plan on keeping a lot (if any) of my FX supplies in the case so it will be manageable to move around. Probably keep it to brushes, sponges, etc - the lighter stuff that takes up room in the other cases and doesn't contribute too much weight.Seriously, if you are looking for a portable lighted case to use for makeup application I highly recommend it! It may seem like overkill for me and my use as special FX, but for freelance MUAs doing bridal work, prom work, etc., this would be almost a mandatory need!!Feel free to contact me for questions.

They're not packaging these right! I received mine today and the mirror was in pieces! They're sending me a replacement and I hope it will be ok, but these are way to fragile to not have padding inside. Package better! Secure the mirror! Other than that it's super cute...Heavy however. I cant see myself traveling with this. Any airline would charge you a fortune. It's about 20 pounds empty.

I had this product for two years , it’s definitely nice , it could be more durable , weighed a ton , the vanity lights blow out . After that the product was useless.

I just received My NYX X-Large Makeup Artist Train Case With Lights.PACKAGING: Awesome and sturdy. They used extra thick cardboard with padding insidePRODUCT: Set up was a breeze! The telescoping legs fit into a male end under the case. I did get a little nervous one of the legs wouldnt screw in but quickly realized the male part is slightly angled and each leg screwed in perfectly. You need to make sure when you pull out the telescoping legs you tighten them in each section before standing the case up.The case itself is a lot heavier than i thought and it's incredibly sturdy! Once all the legs are in all out, it's soo much taller than I thought it'd be - awesome! It can accommodate different heights (even by adjusting the legs). I see why people get taller chairs for it.The material feels so nice and I can't wait to get all my makeup set up in this beautiful thing!TRAVEL / FLIGHTS: I originally bought it for traveling and flights. Its almost a little to big for carry on and once you've got your product in, Im imagine it being much heavier. I doubt the flight attendants will let you put it in the overhead compartments. I feel like it could bust through the overhead bin door and squash a man lol.The only change I'll likely do is change out the bulbs to get something with better CRI (color rendering index). Note, the bulbs do get hot fast so be careful!I LOVE THIS THING! I cant stop looking at it and playing around with it!! I strongly encourage anyone considering it to just go for it! You'll be happy :)

I am extremely dissapointed in the product. I received the item and it was defective(wheel stopper broken and dented in two places). I sent out for a replacement unit which was sent quickly and received another damaged unit with a crack in the front of the case. This was a Christmas gift and my wife was really looking forward to using this product. I'm extremely dissapointed in the quality of shipping and product. At this point I don't think its worth it to request yet another product and have it be defective. For such an expensive item, the shipping package should be more protected and the product should be made of a better quality.

Great concept, but lugging a 70-80 pound up and down stairs is not ideal.The lights that come with it don't do much, more a mood setter.Awesome if you have an in house studio though, the design is beautiful.And it's pretty sturdy as well.

I bought this for my mom who lives abroad and was visiting here in the US. The product is not only great, but the shipping was really fast and it arrived in perfect condition.Although it is a little heavy, it is very well built and she was able to check it in with the airline she was flying out with, no problem (and arrived almost in perfect condition at the other end of the world!)It is true that the lights are not that bright, but that doesn't affect the rating of this product at all.

Great Unit, its a little heavy and yes the lights will need replacement as they are too dim for make-up. I also wanted to ask if anyone else found a key or keys that can help you lock the unit for travel? I see there is holes for one but no keys are found on the inside?
