Solid Rotary Tool Performance (Beware Of The Gradually Decreasing Warranty Period)
I've been using this Black & Decker rotary tool - which is the equivalent of the more familiar Dremel tool, for more than ten years now. The three speeds and ergonomics of this tool have always been wonderful, and fine home/residential use. I'll concede that I have had three of these rotary tools fail, over the last ten years - most of those failures associated with the induction motor. Luckily, on each occasion Black & Decker was true to its warranty, and after determining that a repair was not possible - they quickly forwarded a replacement tool. You should be aware that my rotary tool was originally covered by a five year warranty. I noted on my last replacement tool, that warranty has subsequently been "narrowed" down to two years. Fortunately, I kept my original documentation, and Black & Decker has been willing to honor the warranty associated with the original tool purchase date (5-year). This tool works well, but has product durability limitations, and should work well enough for non-commercial use, but be aware of the now 2-year warranty (which will almost certainly slip to a 1-year warranty at some point in the future).

Black & Decker RTX-6 2-Amp 3-Speed Rotary Tool
Having had a Dremel rotary tool I was not too keen on buying another one, but thought there has to be something better out there than my under-powered Dremel. I can now tell you that the B&D RTX-6 beats that Dremel in every way possible. First of all, it has more than twice the power.Tool changes are much easier. Having an on and off switch rather than a rotary switch is far better. And, the three speed selection is all I ever need. Not only is this a better tool tool, but far less in price. When do you ever see a combination like that?I can recommend this tool without reservation.

This is a solidly built tool. tons of power ...
This is a solidly built tool. tons of power. Will not slow down under load. Answers to some negative reviews: Don't use the wrench to tighten the collet nut, hand tight is enough. The collet fits the tools supplied with it. When you first get it, the nut will have been over tightened and the collet will be stuck in the nut. Loosen the nut but don't remove it from the motor shaft.Take one on the mandrels and place it in the opening of the nut against the face of the collet and lightly tap the end of it with a small hammer. The collet will pop loose. When installing a tool, don't push it in until it bottoms, leave 1/4 inch or so between the shoulder of the mandrel and the face of the nut. The collet will be lightly stuck in the nut after use. Loosen the nut then gently bump the end of the mandrel against the top of your workbench and it will snap free allowing removal of the tool. It is the friction developed by tightening the nut against the collet and squeezing it against mandrel that drives the tool. During use, the nut will tighten slightly and cause the collet to stick in it.

ACCESSORIES ARE MOST IMPORTANT!
I know that this tool will do the job I need it to do and many more.... BUT, I can not start on my first project because there are accessories missing from the original purchase like the collet which is the most important piece for this hand tool!!!💥😡Now, I have to buy a collet to make this hand tool useful and I should NOT be buying anything for this kit!😡😡Right now the collet nut is all that I have and I can not insert the attachments into the collet nut. I hope that the collet will make this possible and if not, I will most definitely be returning this missed matched, untested, incorrectly assembled tool kit! 😬😡😠This was my original thought BUT I am happy to say that I can STILL maintain my faith in Black & Decker! I purchased a Dremel hand tool kit and while messing around with it I figured out how to use my B&D and I found the collet 😁😀😃!Dremel is going back to the store & I am keeping my Black & Decker hand tool!!!

Great performer for the lowest price.
This is my 3rd one in 15 years of casual, but pro, use. I keep coming back to them because of the compact size, narrow neck, and strong motor (for the price). The Dremel brand (Bosch) is all over the place in different models with no real explanation of benefits, weird feeling/too fat tool bodies etc. and no guarantee that they wont go bad early either (read reviews) so I just get the Black&Decker (I think my first one, which was almost identical, said 'Skill'(?).What usually goes bad on these Black&Decker units is the variable speed dial rather than the motor. Otherwise, replacing it with a resistor will make it continue to work - but at highest speed. The price is so reasonable compared to Dremel that I just opt to buy new ones rather than fix the old ones. Understand that the majority of my tools are high end German/Japanese etc. yet I'm happy with this little rotary tool for use with reinforced cutting wheels, drum sander attachments, and carbide spiral flutes for grinding metal etc.It says it's a 3 speed but it's really a variable speed with detents mark High / Medium / Low. The newest one I just received doesn't seem to run at as high a speed as my previous one did (probably making them cheaper now) but I usually run them around 'M' anyways. Everything is pure junk these days unless you're using one in a shop or as an artist and want to spring for the Foredom brands. I just need a portable rotary tool for occasional use that I can abuse. Though I don't have any expectations of it lasting if I used it everyday.

Excelente
