FEL-PRO TCS 45997 Timing Cover Gasket Set

I had trouble installing but that’s my fault. The belt is of superb quality. Excellent materials. Real rubber. High quality rubber.Belt is super tight and sturdy. Wrapped each cam with effortless comfort and a slight grasp of quality rubbers. I always buy and use quality rubbers. I’ve had numerous close calls and bad experiences using cheap rubbers.That’s why I recommend this. High quality rubbers were used in reproduction.

Has a lot more gaskets then pictured ... great value

Arrive quickly with the waterpump. The main seal, bottom sump rubber and silicon were all usable. Didn't need the waterpump o rings as purchased a new pump. other gaskets and o rings must be for a different model. Over-all happy with the purchase and very happy with delivery time to NZ.

Had no choice but only used the bottom seal, main crankshaft oil seal ring and the heat resistant gasket sealant tubes (6x). Good quality but bummer I needed only half the kit…

Works great. Keep in mind this only contains ONE of the oil pan half-circle gaskets, so you will need more than this kit if you plan on pulling the upper oil pan (more work than necessary to do timing chain work though). Has an oil sump pickup gasket, two water pump gaskets, the upper oil pan to timing cover gasket, and a few others you use in various spots. (and some you don't)Used on my '02 Maxima with '05 engine.

So this is my second attempt at a review of this kit. I don’t normally write reviews for products, unless I feel extraordinarily compelled to do so because the item either greatly exceeds expectations or horribly fails to meet them. Unfortunately, for this kit, it’s the later situation. This kit is terrible. I’ve used several Fel-Pro gasket kits over the years and have always previously found great value in the time savings, versus having to acquire all the pieces individually. I’ve included pictures in this review to better demonstrate my disappointment. Of all the items included in this kit, I could only use two. I purchased this kit to help me complete a timing chain job on my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder, with a VQ40DE 4.0 Liter engine. For this job I had to remove the front timing chain cover (not the rear). During the course of this work I found that I needed to replace 2 o-rings, 2 collared o-rings, 2 split flat washers, and the front crankshaft oil seal. I also needed to replace the throttle body gasket, but because it’s not integral to the timing chain case I won’t fault Fel-Pro for not including it. Of the 5 items I needed, 2 were included in this kit. 1 collared o-ring and the crankshaft oil seal. I had to source the other items from the dealership at a more significant cost and nearly a week time delay. I do not recommend this kit. Save yourself some time and do a web search for “Exhaustive VQ40DE timing chain parts list” which lists all the parts you may need for this job. Amazon carries the parts, sold by Nissan, for a little more than you can get them from a dealership parts website. If you’re in a hurry or you’re not near a dealership parts department, Amazon is your best bet. Regardless of how you get the parts, you’ll be paying 2-3 times as much as this kit, but you’ll save yourself some time having the parts ready when you need them. Not to mention you won’t have a lot of leftover trash. The Nissan website is partial garbage. Some of the parts will say they do not fit your application and the picture (if there is one) won’t look like what you need. Here are the part# I used to search for the parts missing from this kit: Collared O-ring 15066-5E510; Split washer/o-ring 13042-3HD0A. Amazon’s pictures are accurate, but remember you only get one, despite how many are pictured.Hope this helps someone save some time. I couldn’t find the 2 o-rings I needed on the Nissan site or on Amazon, due to no pictures, inadequate descriptions, etc… so I ended up cutting my own from some gasket material. Good luck!

When you've exhausted all other options to fix your VQ30DE's oil leak, you'll want this kit.Resealing your timing chain covers is not a fun or easy job but this kit to make things a little simpler. Includes all of the the pre-made gasket seals and o ring's that you'll need to fix that leak. Oh, you'll want an extra tube(s)of oil resistant RTV, the thing included is puny.

Comes with only 1 of 2 required collared grommets for the cam covers. The O rings for the shafts of the cam covers is incorrect.
