Durable and Accurate
I had an Edwards (previously Tru-Chek) rain gauge for over 20 years. The gauges are very durable and mine is still functional but the numerous hail storms we get here in Colorado has taken its toll on my old gauge. The top rim finally cracked in one of our latest storms. However, the gauge is still functional and can still be used but I felt it was time to retire it. The only issue I have with these gauges are that they are hard to clean at the end of the rain season. Dust and small debris get stuck to the walls of the gauge at the tapered bottom. But a high pressure spray of water after letting it sit with some vinegar in the bottom seems to do the job of clearing out all the dust and debris. I am a highly satisfied customer.

Accurate
The markings are accurate though a bit hard for old eyes to easily read. I was after accuracy so I’m happy with this product. The Arizona sun is really hard on plastic, but I got ten years out of the last one I bought, so am expecting I will get that from this one too.

Great Product
When I was growing up in the 1950s my folks has a Tru-Chek rain gauge, and this product is the same design. I have purchased several for my friends. The wedged design is the only way to accurately measure small amounts of rainfall, which is the rule here in Arizona.

Sock-It-To-You Shipping!!!
The company advertises this gauge at $14.99; but I paid $26.58 -- & that is pert near double. What's up with that?I think they suck you in with the price -- then sock it to you with the $11.59 shipping. Why do they do that? This is a wonderful rain gauge -- the best I have ever found: it is worth a 5-star rating. And Ive been using them for decades.I like to have 1 in the front yard, another in the back.[I have to confess -- It rains & I record the higher number.]One of my old Edwards split unexpectedly down the back -- for no reason except age.And cooking in the Arizona Chihuahuan Desert sun for maybe 20 years. It got so sun-blasted it was hard to read; but otherwise was tuff as hell.So I got a new 1 to maintain the pair. And, as I recall it pissed me off paying the outrageous shipping charges in the past. Why dont they just honestly charge you say, $23 + $3.58 shipping? Then they might get more 5-star ratings!Oh -- 1 other thing I dont like is the installation method. On my oldest 1 they sent a nice aluminum holder that was perfect. Now, they go with the 2-screw thingy that is a challenge to mount. And it's tricky to get the dang screw head to line up with the little holes in the plastic.Im old & arthritic, & I have fused vertebrae in my neck, & it's hard to bend over to line everything up.There I am, standing in the mud, especially after it rains & the Mojave Rattlers come out!Come on, Edwards!Include a couple more $ for an aluminum holder -- & jack up the delivery price again!

Accurate location of daily rainfall amount.
I use the gauge to report rainfall amounts to a program at the University of Arizona for monitoring rainfall amounts throughout Arizona .

good construction
A good rain gauge, but, my disappointment was that during freezing weather, the body cracked from freezing water, so, I ordered a new one. Additionally I put some super glue on the cracked one and it still works.

Best rain gauge
This gauge is one of the best. Have been using them for decades. But they do need to be replaced occasionally.

Best rain gauge I've found.
I bought this to place at a second property after getting one from the county conservation district to record rainfall at my farm. It's easy to read, even down to .01". Very solidly made.
