Worked as promised. I never knew that a UV light could be used to tracking scorpions under a house. I do now and use this light to check and rid my house of the critters!

Meh, Not great for my purpose, but others may like it.
The performance on this light is ok. It will do everything they claim. it could be brighter (not is lumens, but in the amount of UV output). If you are looking for something to find the dog pee on the carpet, and want to use alkaline batteries, this will fit your needs. I bought this to spot-cure UV resins, and it's not as "hot" as I'd like. This item is far better suited to that: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008P6VTL0/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_38It has to use a rechargeable 18650 lithium battery, but the output is about 3x more than this one.

Don't give up, you're probably doing it wrong!!
There was a slight learning curve, but once you figure out what works best its perfect. I've found that I see best when holding it at an angle towards the surface, rather than straight at it, then I also look down or to the side at an angle as well. For all black & white surfaces it's best to be in a pitch black room. But on my wood floors it seems to work best in dim/evening lighting. Making a few adjustments is no problem for me paying a price that couldn't be beat!
