SHOYEIDO Premium Japanese Incense Sticks - Shun-You - Beckoning Spring

I don't like the smell of Beckoning Spring. To me, it smells like curry. Maybe there's some fenugreek in there but it' the strongest note (to my nose). I like curry but not what I wanted.For such little sticks the scent throw is amazing. My living room is a pretty large room and one little stick standing in a bowl of rice burns in about 25 minutes and the scent lingers long after that. Unfortunately, the smell of it is not a favorite.I do like this brand as it is all natural and the smoke is very pleasant and not bothersome at all. Definitely a step up from the masala-type sticks I used to buy. I don't think I"ll buy those anymore. It smells like a temple now and not like a headshop! As a result, in a separate purchase, I bought Moss Garden which is half the price and ten times more sticks and good for everyday and I don't hate the smell. I will keep purchasing this brand.

Definitely of a higher quality - don't know that i think spring though - its not as light like the sandalwood or oak moss from Shoyeido. its distinct and comes well-packaged (its actually wrapped in some thin linen like stuff on the inside as well). its expensive as hell though = over a dollar a stick, so special occasion stuff for me. also - shipping took over a month, that said, i got it $15 less than the parent site. I think I will buy this again, but plan to use it very sparingly. its also 30-35 minutes, which breaks down into 4 less sticks, which is about $5 so that was a little disappointing. Also, don't pay $40, its $28-32 if you look around Amazon, will take longer but still

(Note, I had an earlier review and hope this will overwrite it, previous review was for the other Japanese incense sticks we purchased.)Not a lot to say on these other than they are fairly expensive, and compared to other options on the high end only average in the aroma. That is a very personal thing, of course, but for us, the smell was nothing very special.

Incense, and especially aloeswood incense, is like bourbon for two reasons: (1) the good stuff generally costs more, but (2) it's still possible to find a good deal. This is a GREAT deal. Anyone who doesn't appreciate the aroma of this incense should probably stick with Nag Champa and/or Airwick.

bought these based on the glowing reviews and these sticks literally smell like the juiced celery i make.the smell is average at best for me but decided to give 4 stars and not 3 cause fragrance is very personal and subjective and these are high quality.

I was hoping this would smell good given the price. Smell is definitely subjective, but the smell reminds me of perfumes that often give me intense headaches. While this didn't give me a headache, I didn't enjoy the smell. I found it to floral and to intense. Given how expensive it was I really regret this purchase.

A genuinely refined and wonderful incense. A lovely cinnamon that is not at all gourmand, supported by a creamy sandalwood basenote. Harmonious, masterful blending. Like another reviewer I don’t find spring beckoning in it. I’d say it’s more like a prelude to languid summer. I think Beckoning Spring is the great bargain of Shoyeido’s premium line.

Great incense one of my favorites. Wish it was less expensive

Not worth the money...smell doesn't last more than 5 min.
