Perfect for 1911 front strap checkering
Perfect for checkering a 1911 front strap. I wanted to match the mainspring housing. This was my first attempt and it came out relatively decent. Take your time and use lots of chalk. After this one job, the file lost a few teeth but remains fully functional. I'd estimate you could do at least three or more before any functional loss.

Great idea, recommended
What a great idea for checking in the back of my knife blades. Works very well. My recommendation is to take it slow. Highly recommended.

Happy with 20 LPI File
Very happy with this 20 LPI file. I'm being cautious, and staying away from using it on hardened steel, but so far works well on fine grained wood, resin, plastic, aluminum. No broken teeth as some report. Interestingly the two sides of the file have different numbers of rows, though the same spacing.

Worked well
Works really well. I'm still learning but honestly it was easy to work.

Awesome!
My first time at knife jimping and this file made it go easy! Cuts good. Only wish it was an inch wide but a fine first file.

Sharp, consistent, reliable.
This product has worked very well on annealed steel. As long as presure is equally applied, and angles are maintained during filing, material is removed in a consistent manner. It is important to note that I keep it in the garage with other tools, and my files generally rust quickly, but not this one... for some reason, it has managed to stay in its original form after weeks of use!I recommend this product to all other that require this pattern of cutting on annealed steel and softer metals. I have used it on hardened and tempered steel as well with reasonable success, however, its level of performance is obviously diminished.I am pleased with its performance and recommend it to others that would use it on the material listed.
