Organic Real Ceylon (Sri Lanka) Cinnamon Sticks, 5 Inch (500g) (17.6 Oz), Premium Grade, Freshly Packed

I recently stumbled upon a TV series on KQED in the US called the Spice Trail, during which time the show explored the history of various spices in each episode: where it was from, how it was made, how it influenced history (trade routes, colonization, wars etc). One of the episodes was on Cinnamon and I know it sounds crazy but it was absolutely fascinating! I have no idea the wars fought over Sri Lanka by the Europeans due to cinnamon, or the fact that pieces of cinnamon bark are rolled by a special family/tribe in Sri Lanka that has passed the technique down for generations!Anyway a result, I just had to try whole Sri Lankan (Ceylon) cinnamon sticks (“true cinnamon” versus the more common Saigon Cinnamon relative seen in most US stores) , I went searching on the internet and found this local vendor on Amazon. The Cinnamon I received is of a very high quality, far superior to the stuff I was getting before at the supermarket. And for the amount received you really get value for your money! The amount I received of 500 grams would easily fill 20 of the spice jars of whole cinnamon, yet cost me less than half the amount for the same quantity! Also I really like the idea of supporting a local merchant and having more of the money for the product go directly to the local producers. The cinnamon arrived quickly and very well packaged by the seller. I would definitely order it again and recommend the product and vendor to others!

This is the best Ceylon Cinnamon I have ever had! Fresh can be subjective, but, for this to be any fresher it would still be on the tree. This cinnamon is so fresh, it's not completely dry and brittle like every other cinnamon I have purchased, and the smell, Um-mm Good. To top it off, my order which was shipped directly from Sri Lanka, arrived a week before the earliest projected date. I will definitely order this again.
