Good.
If I hadn’t read Robert Monroe’s book first (which were excellent) I probably would have rated this higher. This was a diary of sorts of a guy exploring OBE’s. Most of the book was describing his problems with getting in or out of his body. Most of the experiences he talks about were in his bedroom. He does give solutions to many of the problems he figured out. Also gives exercises to achieve OBE. I really was reading this to do arm chair traveling so to speak of another person’s adventures with astral travel cause I have no desire to do this myself. He doesn’t recount many interesting or exciting travels at all. Still an interesting book if you are actually trying to learn.

Personal experience is best
This is the book that really started me down the path that my life currently appears to be taking - I owe the author a debt of gratitude.Peterson explains his experiences with OOB states (and other interesting effects on his life) in a very straightforward manner. No jargon to wade through, no assumptions to be swallowed (other than "gee it'd be cool to wander around outside my body"), and no apparent agenda other than a clear desire to let people know what he's figured out about the subject. Some books tend to leap into esoteric explanations of (as an arbitrary example) "the seven spheres of astral existence" or the like, without much of a solid attempt to back up their assertions. A "believe me, because I know lots" attitude. Peterson's book instead carefully walks you through his own experiences, allowing the reader to see how he figured out some things, and how others still don't make sense. In other words, it sounds just like how you'd expect an honest guy trying to report some totally weird experiences would sound.Everything he writes about in the book comes from his reported personal experience. When dealing with a subject as unconventional as OOBs, it really helps to be shown a clear picture of the exact process the author went through, from first experience, through explorations, side effects, up to the point where it's become enough a part of the author's life to begin sharing what he knows. And basically that's what we get here, along with quite a lot of specific techniques for skewing the scales in favor of getting some results of your own.Highly recommended!

Exacly what I expected
I am a computer geek as Robert Peterson is and most of these things that he has witten in this book is almost exact same as my experiences are. I wonder is ther some link between logical thinking and OBE, as for doing computer stuff requires alot of imagenation, then it must use certain point in the brain. As for the review for this book, it is very good both for staters and those who have been experiencing OBE for some time. I would recommend anyone who is interested to enhance ones life to buy this book and do some of these exercises. There are some things that I would change, such as removing the "I" character or changin it to something else, it is used too much, also change the "live" to "life" because it does not fit in the centence.I would like more books from Rober Peterson about more in depth experiences such as Rober Monroe books. i.e talking to some of the spirit guides, the view and experience in different astral places etc. Hopefully my wish will one day come true!Peace and love!

Limited Left Brained Explanation of an Unlimited Right Brain Experience
This book attempts to do the impossible, which is to describe the the indescribable in three dimensional words. I think that is why I found it so left-brained and ego based. I have studied for years at Monroe Institute and have completed all of their programs, including Remote Viewing taught by the man who did it for the CIA. I do not walk around in an astral version of this physical place when I am out of body, nor do I stay close to this crazy physical plane at all. I.always go with intention, never randomly, and always with the assistance of a Guide, which ultimately I found is (what else) me in a Higher/Highest Self version. I do not remain in or aware of my physical body when I Remote View, which I do frequently with several groups. There is a whole symphony out there; this is only the (still very lovely) violin section. So, I guess this is a good beginner's book by an author who wants to validate his personal experience. But this is not about what it really out there; it's like he is trying to describe the whole elephant holding only the tail. There is so so so much more. Bill Buhlman's book, or Bob Monroe's three are much better at doing the impossible, and don't forget Mastering Astral Projection by Robert Bruce and Brian Mercer which comes with a CD with binaural programs to facilitate the many exercises they propose (a 90 day guide to OBE).Reading this book has made me start writing my own. Just do not know if I will have time to finish it.....

No nonsense. Pure Knowledge
I was itching to know some of his wild AP experiences but unfortunately he haven't put them and focused mainly on science and lessons he learned while exploring OBE. I love guy! He's science minded, who is keen on learning and experimenting. I read few books on AP by other authors but they seemed be special cases. Forget OBE, I have been practicing some of the exercises which improved the quality of my life! Highly recommended..
