My kid has played oboe for 7 years now and plays in our youth symphony. My son liked the book. He has many books so I sometimes worry with my lack of musical ability and knowledge..I will buy a book that is of no use to him. This was a stocking stuffer for Christmas. Very satisfied!

My daughter's oboe instructor recommended this book. It's been in print for years judging from the old and tattered copy the oboe instructor leant us to use while we waited for the new one. My daughter was thrilled to find a fingering chart inside that she could fold out. I'm not real familiar with oboe books as I play piano but since this has been on the market so long I'm assumimg it's stood the test of time and is one of the best.

You can't beat the Rubank music methods! The music is so beautiful!

I got this along with the other ones in the series. It helped out, as long as the kiddo did his practicing.
