UDOARTS Heart Rate Monitor with Chest Strap

From reading reviews about other devices it seems chest bands are the most reliable and accurate means of measuring heart rate during vigorous exercise. For a wireless heart rate chest band to be durable, and reliable it needs to be sweat proof, have an easily replaceable battery, and have enough range that the watch can be worn or mounted to an exercise machine or bicycle. This Udoarts meets those requirements.The instructions I received are in Chinese and English only and you don't want to lose them or you'll have a hard time trying to figure out how to use all the functions of the watch. It's the usual press this button and then press that button to do something or hold it for 2 seconds to do something else.Besides the 5 pack of Sony CR2032 batteries that were included, batteries were already installed in the watch and the chest band right out of the box. It came in a box inside a box that was inside the usual Amazon box, so it was well protected for shipping.The watch updates the displayed heart rate every 5 seconds and also can display the average value over a time interval you start and stop with a button. I tested the heart rate accuracy while checking blood pressure and the watch and blood pressure meter came up with the exact same number. During exercise on an elliptic trainer the watch gave numbers consistent with what I was expecting.This is the first continuous heart rate monitoring device I've tried and I was surprised at how quickly heart rate falls when stepping off the elliptic trainer. The drop is fast enough that stopping to manually check heart rate gives a significantly lower value. If you want to know your true heart rate while exercising you need a device such as the Udoarts heart rate monitor.I'm giving it 4 starts because the product description is misleading. It says "Includes two types of heart rate chest straps…", but only 1 chest strap is included. That chest strap is designated as chest strap 2, so when you read "Included In The Box: Chest strap 2" it's not 2 separate chest straps, but the 2nd type of two chest straps. I assume Chest strap 1 is available, but didn't see it offered on Amazon. Nothing wrong with chest strap 2, just the product description needs to be clearer that you're only getting 1 chest strap. I don't think I was missing a chest strap is there was no room for two chest straps in the product box.

Really like this! I was a little hesitant to buy it because of some of the negative reviews, but it appears that the complaints are the result of folks having difficulty figuring out how to set various functions, especially the clock function. It's true it's a bit complicated -- like most digital devices, it's a matter of hitting combinations of buttons and/or holding a button for several seconds, etc. -- but once those sequences are figured out, the watch works quite well, whether you need it to keep time accurately, use it as a stop watch or just use it to monitor your heart rate. For me, the primary purpose is to use it as a heart monitor for aerobic work-outs, and this works wonderfully. It's also a lot less expensive than the other heart monitors on the market. I was also nervous about the materials used for the chest strap and the watch band, since I'm prone to getting allergic skin rashes, especially if something is made of neoprene. I'm really happy to say there's no problem (and no off-gassing from any weird chemicals). I should mention too that the instructions included with the package are a little difficult to follow at first, but Udoarts posted good instructions for setting the various functions in response to one of the negative reviews. I definitely appreciate the extra batteries and the screwdriver included in the package. Also, I was very impressed with the the fact that Udoarts sent me an email reiterating some of the instructions to make sure I wouldn't have difficulty setting the functions. All in all, I'm very happy with this item and with the company.

The heart rate monitor function works great and so does the pairing to the polar compatible treadmills. I give three stars because I the watch does not let me set the time. Following the instructions, it never enters into the time edit mode.

I purchased this heart monitor in September or October of 2017 and am very disappointed. It was extremely difficult to setup and now will not respond to any push button inputs. I have changed the battery but it will not function properly. I want to return this monitor for a full refund and purchase another monitor of greater quality.Please provide a Return Authorization and suggestions for an upgrade. I am recovering from a heart attack and need a heart rate monitor for my rehabilitation work. Thank you, James R. The product that I received was total junk. I ordered it for use on a trip and it failed to work on its second use. On first use I could see water on the inside of the watch lens so apparently the watch is not water resistant. That's a bad feature for a watch you work out with and cover with sweat.My first use of this product was already beyond the return window so I guess I'm out the money.

I purchased this in April and have been very happy with it. It is easy to use and seems accurate. The only issue I had was that I was unable to remove two screws from the watch back to replace the battery (which are included). I contacted the seller and they replaced everything very quickly and without any hassle. I would definitely purchase this item again and recommend this seller.

Beware! The screws holding the back plate of the watch are torqued so tight they are impossible to remove without stripping the screw head as well as the supplied driver. Managed to remove three but the fourth was impossible to remove. Here is the catch. If you start using the product and the battery goes dead you no doubt will be out of warranty when you find it's impossible to remove the back.

Didn't compare to Polar. I returned it.
