**Q: can i conect them to my s8 sub buy wirles?**
A: No. These are cables speakers. You could connect to an airplay receiver or Bluetooth receiver.

**Q: Do the speakers come with two power cables, or do you only need to connect one to power then use the included cable to connect them together?**
A: One power cable, which feeds the amplifier which is in one of the two speakers. A cable is outputted from the active speaker feeding the signal to the other passive speaker

**Q: Is anyone getting clicking sound when playing over usb? only certain codecs/websites i've so far observed, but not consistently enough.**
A: Never noticed clicks or drop offs with the desk computer-usb these speakers are attached to. In other system (different computer and DAC), computer hard disc activity was reflected on the sound as clicks. Completely solved with an Intona usb isolator. An expensive solution though. Still in another system with a laptop I noticed the cleanliness of the digital signal is usb plug dependent.
Hope it helps.

**Q: are these worth £500 ?**
A: Not worth 500. I’m sure when I bought them they were £150. Wort that but not 3 times the price.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The perfect duo to any desk setup

After months of putting off buying speakers and many hours searching the web, reading reviews on a range of desktop speakers i finally decided on the Audioengine A2+ speakers. I cant say you'd be disappointed with the choice, at least i wasn't in the slightest!First off the unboxing was impressive, with the speakers coming secured well in protective packaging and wrapped in microfibre cloth soft to the touch, with another 2 microfibre bags storing the connecting wires, the first impressions oozed a premium feel with these great microfibre carrying bags.The little speakers pack great audio, with a well rounded and crisp range of sound and considering the size of these little guys the base isn't bad at all! if you're a hardcore basehead you may need an external sub but for the regular user for the home office these are perfect in this size and produce amazing sound these put out considering their small form factor. Any audiophile will appreciate this great desk addition and make sitting at your desk all that more inviting and leaving you not want to get out your seat!The design of these blend in and look and feel very study, solid and most important quality. The problem i found personally when looking for desktop speakers is the majority don't compliment the desk and look out of place, tend to not look at nice and feel a bit cheap. This is certainly not the case with the A2s, they are a good weight in the hand, and the finish of the speakers is high end, from the smooth outer shell encasing the entire body to the drivers and back panels, you can tell these are premium quality and they sound as good as they look if not better! I wouldn't expect these to produce any rattle from weight of them allowing for vibration dampening through the padded underside on the bottoms. The volume control to the rear left isn't so much an issue at all, i adjust it to a certain level on the back and then control the volume though the device i'm using over bluetooth so turning the volume up or down can be done without issue.The setup was super simple to install and connect up to my devices, 5 minute job connecting the power and cable between the speakers and then pairing up to them with a bluetooth device.While they are some of the most pricey speakers when compared to its competitors in this range i believe them to be worth it. The build, sound, easy of use and looks of them top all my expectations and an investment well made with these 10/10 speakers!

Got these in black for my home office desk.Using them primarily for music and some video.Connections:They are connected to my Macbook Pro, and I've placed them about 1.7M apart.The left speaker unit connects to the power cable.The 2 units are connected together with the speaker cable provided (speaker cable is 2 metres long).I have connected to my Macbook via the provided 1.5M USB cable, but can be connected via Bluetooth too.There are external outputs that could optionally connect to a subwoofer.Operation:They are turned on/off via the volume knob (on back of unit).I can turn the volume up/down via my keyboard controls (and/or can use the volume knob on the speaker).Sound:Very precise and rich sound. Bass is very good for units of this size.Very pleasing to listen to, and a noticeable step up in quality from other speakers of this size.I also purchased the silicone mounts to sit them on, which angles the speakers upwards for a more direct sound.Quality:By far, some of the best packaging I've experienced with a product!The speakers and their accessories/cabling were pampered in quality textile drawstring bags, all contents were packaged with alot of care and quality.The speakers themselves feel (and weigh) high quality, and have a noticeably high quality finish to them (mine are satin black).Pros:- Rich and precise sound quality- Aesthetically good looking on a desk- Can be easily connected via USB or Bluetooth- Volume easily controllable via device input (e.g. keyboard) and/or by the volume knob on the left speaker- Excellent build quality, and exceptionally well packagedCons:- Expensive compared to other 2.0 speakers availableOverall, I am very happy with these bookshelf speakers.They are pricey, but I can see, feel, and hear the difference.I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a concise pair of speakers, that is willing to pay extra for high quality.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sounds great, but beware older revisions!

These speakers are a good size, look good on my desk and to my ears sound pretty good for music, podcasts and video calls. They're easy to wire up, and pairing via Bluetooth to my phone was straightforward. Switching between input sources is transparent – after a second or so without Bluetooth input they switch back to USB or aux input.However… I had a weird issue with USB input, where the left and right channels would be swapped, but only until I streamed audio via Bluetooth, after which the left and right channels would be correct for USB input. The problem recurred most times I switched the speakers off and on. The Audioengine support team sent me a replacement amp for the left speaker, which was straightforward enough to install: remove 6 screws, detach a single connector from the old amp (and peel the Bluetooth antenna away from the case housing); then reverse the process with the new amp. The new amp works fine. The old defective amp has the letter E on the backplate, to the right of the serial number; the new amp has an M in that position. (Once you dismantle the speaker, there are clearer markings for the different board revisions.)So, a qualified positive review: if you care about left and right being correct over USB input, you'll want to make sure you have a newer revision of the speaker.
