As my 3-star rating indicates, I consider them to be just so-so when it comes to compression. I bought size L-XL based on my shoe size. I expect a nice graduated compression that is most evident around the ankles, especially with the 20-30 compression indicated in the description. Instead, the compression is really just mild for me...doesn't feel like much more than I would find in a pair of elastic, calf height socks.
