Copper solder wick/braid, 2mm wide, contains flux for easy removal of solder from printed circuit boards or jewelry. Length is 150 cm (approx. 5 feet) Review: Clever and absorbent! - Perfect for my Macbook SMD logicboard cleanups! Micro-tweezers are super helpful too. The spool has a rubber side that cups and protects the copper roll from moisture in the air-careful when you open the packaging to not cut this side open. Review: Good Solder Wick - Product is fine, but I had trouble with my soldering iron.

Does the Job!
This is a really nice desoldering braid. I was repairing a Fender Ultra Chorus amp and needed to unsolder a couple of quarter inch jacks- one stereo (9 soldered pins) and one mono (4 soldered pins). I used this braid and had the old broken jacks off in a couple of minutes. I do recommend putting a little flux on the braid before use. Also I've seen comments that it worked once and then the user couldn't desolder any more. I suspect the person wasn't cutting off the end of the braid that absorbed the solder from the first removal. Each point you desolder will leave solder on about 1/4" of the braid. Cut this off before trying to desolder the next point and it will work great. Leaving the solder on, even when moving to a "fresh" section of braid just creates too much of a heat sink and really affects desoldering.

Great product. Here's a tip
Great product. Here's a tip : flux, flux, flux. Some on the connection, some on the wick, apply heat & wick to connection and solder is gone. Nib the end of wick and do the next one.

Doesn’t work in the slightest
This wick doesn’t work in the slightest. It seems that it has absolutely no flux, because it doesn’t wick solder at all. Whereas other brands do a great job at sucking melted solder away and absorbing it into the wick, this wick just sits in the melted solder and does nothing.
