It's Ink
The DYMO DiscPainter is a printer that just prints on CD's or DVD's. Like all printer ink this is expensive, but the labeling you get is beautiful (Christmas gift quality) and much better than a printed paper label. The cost works out to about 50 -70 cents a DVD, depending on your design and you have to use printable DVD's, of course, After you design the DVD it only takes about a minute to print. This is obviously a speciality product, but if you produce a lot of DVD's for special occasions it is definitely worth it, whether you are making one or several. If I make a slide show of a special event and put it on a DVD, I can print labels on dozen copies in less than 15 minutes while watching TV. The ink cartridges could not be easier to install.

Functional, but overpriced
The cartridge was fine and works. It actualy arrived much earlier than I anticipated. This was the best price that I could find, but I feel that it is still overpriced.

Dependable Cartridge
I have had my Dymo DiscPainter for a while. These cartridges are supposed to provide enough ink for 100 printed discs.Since I do these for other people, I always ask for the money to purchase the necessary ink for the number of discs they want. This one performed perfectly. I printed 100 great discs, and almost right after the 100th, I got the low ink warning, although it still printed a few perfectly. One bit of advice on these discs, once unsealed, it isn't something you can just leave in the painter for 3 or 4 months, and then expect to go back and start printing normally. I almost always wait to order these cartridges until I actually have a need, knowing I will finish with it in 2 or 3 weeks. Otherwise they will dry out and not perform well.

Finally know how to store an opened cartridge - upgraded my review score.
The report below was made before I figured out how to store a cartridge that has been opened. As you know, they dry out if left in the machine unused for a couple of weeks.Problem solved! This is what you can do about it:When opening a new cartridge, save the plastic sealing tape and foil bag. When you finish your print session, remove the cartridge from the machine, replace the sealing tape exactly as it was before. You will need to use scotch tape to hold it firmly in place. Be careful not to put any tape glue on the print head or electronic terminals. Then slide the re-sealed cartridge back into the foil bag and close tightly, then store the entire package in a ziplock bag with air squeezed out. (I also added a moist paper towel to the ziplock bag. I'm not sure how necessary that was because the towel was bone dry when re-opened months later.)Six months later, I opened the bag, removed the tape, cleaned the print head and terminals with an alcohol swab, replaced the cartridge into the printer and voila! It worked! This process will save me a fortune on ink cartridges. How about you?____________________________________I make a few discs or maybe a dozen or so then the DYMO machine sits for weeks. Result: A dried up ink cartridge! It gets very expensive to print an occasional disc because you must replace the cartridge after it sits a month. If you're gonna print cd's, make sure you get them all done soon. Some people report that they get 200 printings from 1 cartridge. I believe it's possible. As for me I get 12 or so very very expensive cd's.Use it or lose it!

My Dymo DiscPainter was working fine until I used this ink
I'm curious as to if they are still making this ink, or is it all leftover from when they still made the Dymo DiscPainter? My Dymo DiscPainter was working fine until I used this ink. Everything is now wavy, not clear as it used to print out. Yes, I did go through the cleaning process on the DiscPainter several times. I thought that I had a bad new cartridge, so I replaced with another new cartridge. Same results, wavy not clear. And again, I went through the cleaning process. Then I thought, well maybe my Dymo DiscPainter went bad. Luckily I had a new one waiting in the wings for just this day. I hooked it up and tried it with both cartridges that I previously used in my first Dymo DisPainter. Same results, wavy. Then I thought it might be my computer, so I tried it with my other computer, same results. I also tried it with different USB cables in several different combination with the same results. I also know for a fact that the final product I was trying to print wasn't overly complicated as I print almost the same images from year-to-year.Because I had a deadline I went out and bought an Epson XP-820 to finish the job. I was a little tedious and certainly not meant to print 100+ DVD's, but it worked well enough.I'm going to inquire about getting my money back and see how that goes. I'm really curious to know if all of these cartridges are leftovers, or are they in-fact still produced to fit another Dymo product? As I stated before, the results were the same with one old Dymo DiscPainter and one new out of the box. I probably trashed 50+ DVD's trying various combinations of Computers, Cables and DiscPainters. And for the record - between the time my ink was getting low (I can always tell because the color starts to fade) and the time I replaced the ink cartridge about 15-minutes passed because I already had the replacement/new ink cartridges in -hand - no Software updates occurred.

DYMO DiscPainter Color Cartridge #11 the best
the DYMO DiscPainter Color Cartridge #11 is by far the best cartridge for the dymo disc painter as it is the only cartridge for this product.it does give you at least 100 labels for your white printable inkjet dvd's if you keep your print settings set at low.it is beyond a doubt in my opinion the best way to label your dvd's.stick on labels can not compare to this system.anyone who wants quality labels will want to invest in the dymo discpainter.more bang for your buck and longer lasting as the old saying goes.the cartridge lives up to it's potenial of delivering a great label.i can't praise it enough.
