Built Solid
So far it's been great. I've only been able to use it a couple times so far as the ice has just started to recede. It seems very well built and is very light. The gearing feels a little " tight" at first but gets a lot smoother after some use. I have the first generation of this reel ( 10 + years old) and some Quantum Catalyst reels of the same age. They all still function although one of the Catalyst's anti reverse is going. For me the size is great for walleye and bass fishing. The drag is very smooth at every tension. Will probably be buying another one but want to try the Vapor as well.

Quantum Reels are very smooth
Lightweight, extremely smooth an d awesome drag. Not to mention they have excellent customer service and a fantastic warranty. These new S3 models that Quantum came out with are great reels...you won't be disappointed!

Look no further. Solid reel.
I fish 75 days or more a year. My average trip yields a ton of fish. I go through tackle like an Irish priest goes through whisky.I thought I'd give the reel a shot. Used itwo days and bought another I liked it so much. Actually, my wife kept stealing it. I figured another rod and reel was cheaper than the divorce.I paired the reel with a shimano Compre 7 foot fast action rod. The set up is unbelievable light and put a hurting on fish.I mainly use it for whiting and pompano but have landed 12 to 15 pound redfish with it along with a bunch of silver and speckled trout.Seams to be very well constructed and it's small size is perfect for 8 pound mono.I also own a few diawa saltists an Penn battles. Way better than the battles and on par, maybe slightly better than the saltist ( but much cheaper,)Not a super fast reel but great for slow jigging or live baiting.
