These are very, very thoughtfully laid out containers. They stack efficiently, easily. The lids stack on the lids. The bowls stack on the bowls. Screw top lids are usually a mess, but hardly noticeable with this product. They must be made out of something from outer space as they do stand up to high heat, high cold, and the dishwasher. Cracking on the drip edge does happen. They are practically inert though; Your nuclear Chili or homemade bisque will still likely stain them during microwaving. That's OK though! Because the way the containers are made if you run hot water over frozen liquids the whole thing will come out in just seconds in one big chunk. Right into your porcelain microwaveable bowl. They seam a bit expensive at first but once you realize the reuse ability you'll be purchasing them to store roughly everything.They are an excellent investment.

We have about a dozen of these incredibly useful containers. They're small, seal perfectly and are darn near indestructible. They're perfect for storing and reheating left-overs or packing food for lunch. They'll hold both dry and wet food and can be thrown in the dish washer.2 small precautions, it's best to loosen the top when putting these in the microwave so the steam can escape. Also, like any plastic container, oily foods can stain them and make them hard to wash. We have some glass bowls with plastic tops for things like that.With those 2 things in mind, these are a great food storage solution.

Use these all the time! Great quality and easy to open/clean. Perfect for individual servings of your favorite soup, chili, or stew!

I had a set very similar to these that were a store brand. When I needed more, the store no longer had a store brand. Amazon also sells generic sets, but I think these work much better and the cost is either comparable or only slightly higher. I think it's worth the difference! They have a very firm closure when you get to the end of the threads (better than the store brand I bought earlier). When closed tightly, I think it would be pretty hard for them to open accidentally. I don't use these in the microwave because I don't want them to bubble or warp (I honestly don't know IF they bubble or warp), but they are very nice for cold things in the fridge or room temp foods. I mostly use them for cut-up veggies, perhaps one serving of a left-over meal, etc., because they limit the amount of air that can get inside. Being plastic, they may stain with tomato or similar foods or spices that might stain them. Mine have remained pretty clear but I don't put tomato-based foods in them. They could also be used for beads, buttons, or other craft projects that have smaller parts. These bowls are also more environmentally friendly than using plastic bags, zip-top bags, or plastic wrap on bowls.

EDIT, 10/20/14: like these so well I just got the 3 pack (so another 9 more). They do warn you not to close the container in the microwave, and that the container will get quite warm. YES it does. Very. Original review, follows below.==============16 oz containers are of soft plastic, sorta fat, have screw-on lids. Top diameter is 4 inches. Extra features include side depressions that are not slippery for a more-secure grip, and a 'Date' label holder so you can use post-it tape to label what the thing is, i.e., for freezing. Top rack dishwasher safe, but I didn't use the heat to dry, so I don't know if it can be dried that way.Bottom diameter is only slightly smaller. I find these hard to grip, and I have size 8 hands (which some consider large). Wish they were taller and more slender. Else, the above features are good. Soft plastic is much better, and these are light-years better than MADware (make you mad rather than Glad, because of the stupid popup center in Gladware,which completely wrecks it for stacking). Cheaper, too.

I have tried several plastic storage containers in the past but either l have a problem opening and closing them or l just don't like them. Somebody had given me one of these Ziplocks and l was sold. I right away wanted more. My order arrived way sooner than the scheduled date and they are exactly the same as the one my friend gave me. The twist top is easy to open and close, they are sturdy and not so big around to put your hand around them. And they do great in the freezer and are easy to wash. And if course the price is really great.

These are the best Ziploc containers because they don't leak and they are the perfect individual serving size. They are stackable, extremely durable, and easy to wash. I give some away as stocking stuffers. I like them so much, I have a dozen of them. You can never have too much of these containers. Unfortunately, I keep losing them at relatives' homes, either that, or they grow feet at their houses. They are perfect for pre-cut ingredients or sauces. I drop them on the floor all time and none of them ever cracked. The easy to screw on top never comes off accidentally. These are far superior to their snap-on tops.

I do a lot of bulk cooking and these containers the smaller and the larger ones are the ONLY ones I ever use. The twist on lids are perfect and I know they are easy to use in the freezer!

Much smaller than I expected. But I can pack one soup and one rice in different containers for lunch, it is the cheapest balanced diet in busy life.

I have used these before and truly like the size, and well fitting lids.

A bit pricey but well worth it. You cannot have enough of these handy tubs.
