Perfect for beginners or Mobile DJ's
I highly recommend this controller for beginners or mobile DJ's who don't wanna drag their heavier controllers on the road. This controller is constructed very solid and housed with metal all around. The loops, effects, samples, and que are spot on and precise when using Virtual DJ. I prefer VDJ over the other program just because of the familiarity with VDJ. Although this controller is bundled with VDJ LE, you won't get all the features in the LE version unless you upgrade to VDJ PRO.The platters (jog wheels) are a little bit smaller compared to other compact controllers. So scratching can be a bit tricky if your used to CDJ's or other bigger controllers. The EQ is pretty standard but what separates this to other compact controllers are kill switches. Instead of turning your dial knob for a mix. The kill switches instantly turns off your highs, mids, and lows. Perfect for remixes on the fly.Bottom line. It's a great DJ Controller for beginners or for mobile DJ's who don't wanna lug around a bigger controller on the road. If your a DJ who incorporates scratching, it could be a bit tricky on the smaller platters. I highly recommend this product if your sets consists of just beat matching for transitions which incorporates loops, ques, effects, and samples.Just a side note:I have the Hercules RMX 2 housed in a Odyssey Glide Style Flight Case FZGSRMX which gives my mobile DJ set up a professional look. And this case protects my RMX 2. It's a perfect combination!

Great equipment, But. . .
Okay, this is great equipment. It's really awesome, and I'm having a good time with it.That being said, however, there is an issue with the accompanying DJuced software. The software sometimes lags, skips, and slows in the middle of songs. The only solution I've found for it is to simply kill the program and open it up again (repeating this until the lagging is no longer present). I've found this issue to be rather prevalent online, too, and no genuine solutions have been offered. If you think that this may be because of my computer, let me assure that it is not. I have an incredible machine with an obscene amount of memory and actually just reinstalled Windows 7 on the device. It seems that everyone else having this issue with the DJuced software have powerful machines as well. The problem is with the software, not the computers. So, to reiterate, this is an amazing console but there is an issue with the software which could potentially ruin live sets.

Hercules RMX 2
The device is a crafty instrument; however it may cause PC's to crash the more you use it. Everytime I use it with my Dell Studio 17 Laptop the songs clip during mixing sessions. It also wears on your Hardrive.

Wish it power up with out PC or Laptop, like me I just use, iPod & MP3 players sometimes I just take my wireless sound system
Strong built gadget, but if you want to bring PC, or Laptop to see what you are doing, then this is for you, or else for me it will not power-up. You can get away doing that but actually not the right way to make your life easy. But if you don't mind bringing Laptop & all gadgets like every DJ does, then You are Professional then this is for you.

Wow! much better than I had expected.
I got it the next day, even though I saw an advertising for your first order get free 1 day shipping, sweet, un til I got my email stating the payment was complete, and that I had been charged like another $50 for the shipping, I know I should have complained and got my money back on that but, I had a gig the nexr day and it got there just in time for me to install everything somewhat learn how to use and get out on stage, which it saved my ass. Though I kinda like the Cheat button (sync) I also don't appreciate how when I watch most of these new DJs out, and how they don't matchbeats worth a s***, the just hit the Cheat button, and bam they become a pro dj, yeah right my ass. Real DJs use their ear to match, tones and beats.I knew from the begining since its not using vinyl records, the sound quality can't be that good? Well, as much as no it doesn't sound nearly as good as vinyl, but I have yet to see digital have close to that of the acoustic vinyl. But I was impressed that even when I hook this mixer up to a pair of little dinky speakers it makes it sound pretty darn good I might say. On top of the control you get with mixing, I love this thing since I can put the mixer, my laptop, and all the cords in my back pack, ride my bike to one of the bars or cubs I have a show at in town, and all I have to fo is hook to their sound system, rhich most all clubs have nice systems made for easy connection to with a simple RCA audio L/R or with stereo master output. The only 2 complaints I have for it are the jog wheels are not wuite 100% accurate more like 95-99% real good but not the same as some good ole technique turntables, and the other problem I have is that it all works fine with Virtual DJ LE, and Pro except for once I installed Pro I all of sudden had basically no lights on the mixer anymore Lke the volume lights, the kil switch lights, as well as the grapic pad lights all seem to stop working. I re formated an tried just using LE but I still have no lights on the mixer. kinda pisses me off cause at times I don't realize how touchy the kill switches are, an if they get bumped I don't know what on or off. As well as not know the volume light which you need so you know when your red lining the mixer since the program can handle a lot more. If I din't enjoy the other features of it, as weel as it been to long for me to return it + I have heard of VDJ coming out with 8 which is supposed to be compatible with my RMX2 mixer.Otherwise I love this little thing, it does so much for its size and weight, along with the fact that its not all plastic crap ready to break, it has a metal bobdy, and from what I've already had to put it through to test its abilities it has proven its self well and just about payed for itself after a few shows, with not having to have a vehicle an the gas to transport some heavy turntables and vinyls, as well as I con't have to rick breaking my back trying to hual my old equipment around with the best part being, instead of bringing in a huge tub of records, crush my toe setting it down, an in that 120lb tub of records you have enough music to play for about 5-6 hrs before you have to start replaying tracks, where with this I have my 5 lb laptop that has over 20,000hrs woth of music on it, plus if I have wifi wherever my shows at I can take requests, look it up download some new tracks and add it in the mix asap.

Arrived.. Tested it... either the ...
Arrived..Tested it...either the power supply was defective or the device was, It just wouldn't turn on. There was a bit of masking tape on one end..with some blue writing on it. If that means it was a repaired unit being sold as a new product that would be criminal, since I bought it new. Now I don't trust Hercules anymore I won't buy their products. Next I'll try pioneer.
