Amusing and droll French stories of Petit Nicolas and his grumpy dad and and conniving mother on vacation. These stories are excellent for advanced beginner, intermediate and even advanced readers trying to improve their fluency.I'm an intermediate French student and know about 80-90% of the vocab in these stories. I'll be using them with my French tutor. The illustrations break up the text. This is a smallish book. You can easily read a story in 5-10 minutes. They are quite humorous and lively stories with French which is useful.They are easier than the Maigret mysteries we read in French class, so they are good for fluency and to improve your reading speed.

I am reading these with my French 2 child. It might be more like French 3, but we get through them. The stories are funny.

I bought this book to learn French. It helps a lot.

Easy fun reading for French starters

Le petit Nicolas is the French version of Calvin and Hobbes, only not written in comic strip. It's a wonderful book every one in the French speaking world should read (at least one of the collection).

The stories are funny in any language (i.e., funny translated into English), so they keep you reading. Vocabulary not daunting, so children will have confidence to get through the stories. Adults will laugh in recognition of the things that go awry on holiday.

This is a very nice little French book, lots of humour and not too difficult to read. Very pleased with it.

For those who wish to improve their schoolboy French and get a laugh at the same time, these books are necessary. Great drawings.
