Doesn't work with a Mustang GT using and iPhone, works fine with an Echo though—disappointed
Since I can't get the similar looking TrekPow any longer—mine was stolen out of my Mustang GT—I thought I'd try this SAVFY knockoff. I am disappointed. This thing will not fully sync with a 2002 Mustang GT using iOS, although it will sync to a 2001 Toyota Echo just fine using the exact same iPhone over Bluetooh. Aargh! I had to switch back to my old Android Nexus tablet to get it working on the Mustang. Sorry iOS fans, but this product is going to be hit or miss for you—If you can find the older TrekPow bluetooth dongle (and hopefully it's not the one stolen from my car…but you never know when buying off eBay, right?) I advise you to snap that up instead for Bluetoothy iOS goodness. (I'm using inCarDoc app on my iPhone and it gets stuck at ATH1 after initial success with the handshake on the 2002 Mustang; don't have that problem on the Echo with the same phone and app so it's definitely something to do with the negotiations on my 95N Mustang ECU specifically; I'm using TorqueLite on the Nexus running Android, no problems with either car with that setup).Tip and futher notes: If you are doing what I did—replacing lost/dead/gone dongle(s) with this SAVFY—delete the old pairings from you iOS or Android device first. I wasted substantial time trying to figure out which dongle in the app settings on both my iPhone and Nexus this new dongle was, having had two previous OBD2 dongles in the list on each. Also, annoyingly on iOS, the SAVFY dongle would sometimes be identified as headphones instead of a generic device; did not experience a similar problem on the Android tablet. That problem seemed to be less and issue after I deleted the older paired dongles from my iPhone's bluetooth settings.

works well on newer cars with certain apps.
I purchased this to diagnose my 2000 Ford F150. I used Auto doctor, car scanner, Facile, Obd2 expert. Auto doctor is the only one that held a good continuous connection. Unfortunately the only car it work well on my my 07' BMW(which has no problems). The tool simply didnt communicate with the ECU. my best guess is that there needs to be some updates as well as some sort of instructions. As i said, it does work on some vehicles so maybe it will work for you?

I needed the slim profile.
I bought this for a 98 Isuzu Trooper. The OBD plug is on the lower left dash and there is a cover on it. This OBD adaptor just barely fits in place with cover on it. I've been using for a year and a half now it it still works fine with Torque pro.

Save some hassle and see what’s going on for yourself
Worked great and helped to confirm the issue we were having with my wife’s vehicle. We had some problems with one auto shop and wanted to check what was really going on. We then took it to another shop that confirmed exactly what we had seen reported by this scanner. It helped us be able to see the new mechanic was not trying to up sell or report things what were not actually needing repair.

Don’t. Just spend to get a good one...
Not impressed. And I got what I paid for.Connects after MUCH effort...and then suddenly disconnects for no apparent reason.I don’t think it was very CLEAR in the listing at time of purchase that you will HAVE to spend MORE to BUY an app that works with it as the “free” apps (yeah right) do little to nothing except frustrate.I’d return it but why? I’ll save my time and Amazon a dollar.

Works great with OBD Fusion iOS app
I bought this specifically for OBD Fusion on iOS and it works great. Didn’t work with Dr. Prius or Carista but for the price, I’m not gonna complain. The on/off feature is pretty neat and convenient.

Does not work with some Fords and GM vehicles.
Great expectations because of the size. Did not work with my 1999 Cadillac Seville. I use Torque app on android phone. Everything connected but would not communicate with ECM. Torque app advised me, that on some of the cheaper units sold on Amazon and E bay, they are missing a protocol that let's them communicate with the electronic control module. I am keeping it for future use in a different car, but for now I will have to buy a more expensive unit.

Cheapest way to diagnose car problems
I purchased this OBDII reader as a way to avoid going to the mechanics shop for a diagnoses. This reader is great because it plugs directly into your cars OBDII port and can connect to your phone instantly via bluetooth. I paired it with an app for android called iTorque which uses data sent from this OBDII reader to your phone and relays key pieces of information. In addition, if your car has a check engine light, this reader can detect it and using the app, you can figure out what the problem is, research it and also clear the code. Overall, this is a very handy device that will save lots of time and money. The on/off button is also a great feature as it means it can be left plugged in without worrying about setting off the alarm (on more modern/advanced cars).

Nothing
Only used it once, works, but these Chinese knock offs are hit and miss with how long they will continue to work. Had one from the same manufacture and it lasted around 5 yrs and then the BT stopped working, so remember you get what you pay for most of the time.
