Little You

Such a simple, powerful, gorgeous board book. I've given it as a baby gift more than a half-dozen times. The text perfectly expresses the joy and welcome that parents feel for a new baby. The images (while produced by a Native/First Nations artist) are ethnically ambiguous enough that Asian American, Pacific Islander, and other readers can happily see themselves reflected. I've bought this book for families of all ethnicities, and they've all loved it!

Gorgeously written book with sweet sentiments and lovely art

This is a stunning book. The poem is so, so beautiful and the drawings are incredible. I am so grateful that we stumbled upon a reading list that recommended it. My daughter (18 months) and I instantly fell in love with it and it's now our regular bedtime story - repeated 10+ times every night.

Sweet book and beautiful illustrations

This is our go-to for baby showers. It is so sweet and beautiful. It's not a standard gift choice so it's unlikely to be doubled up. It is also a regular in storytime here at home. Wonderful book.

Honestly my favorite little book to read to our little one. The bold colors and simple text is perfect for babies.

We chose this book as part of our nightly bedtime routine that we began as soon as our daughter was born. We always read her Little You right before we put her in the crib. She's nearly a year old and I never tire of the lyricism or the sweet illustrations. There are some very nice visual touches, such as the mom's toe peeking out of her sock as she dances the baby across the room. We usually give this book to new parents as a reprieve from cutesy farm animal and other mainstays in the children's library canon.

I took my one year old Grand daughter to the toddler section of our public library and she grabbed this book and sat down to look at the pictures.The illustrations are charming and eye catching. While simple, I think that a small child can follow the story without being read to. I checked it out for my Grand daughter and realized that my 18 month old Grandson who lives in another state might like it too. So as a special Grandma treat, I ordered this book and sent it to him! Now he can enjoy it too.
